call 1-800-WVUGAME and specifically ask for student section seats. They are not available online.

Lol...biggest game in years? Students and fans say no.

My how things change.

About 23 years - a day WVU hosted Miami before an announced crowd of 70,222. Kickoff was at 3:30. Student section was totally full by 2:30 (including aisles). I got my pice of Aluminum while the sun was shining bright at 1:30 when I looked up from the free Engineering Tent (well free plus my tuition for bad cookies and cheap burgers, hot dogs, and potatoe chips).

Fast forward to today and I guess the students are going home early for thanksgiving break. Unbelievable? Especially considering it was festival seating back then.

Or they could be out looking for work because the generation that showed up to that Miami game screwed things up for them.

I mean...weather, something....

Yeah they're out looking for work on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

To quote Tommy Flannagan, "Yeah that's the ticket!"

Bottom line: It will be a bad mark on WVU fans if the Oklahoma game, which will help determine the Big 12 title, with an 8-1 Mountaineer team can't sellout Mountaineer Field.

Stop the damn stadium expansion talk till EVERY WVU game is sold out!

Show up or shut up, IF you are able to be at the game.

I'm 84 and I'll be there, regardless of the weather. 48 degrees or 4 inches of rain, I'll be there.

Namby-pamby younger generation just doesn't have the stones that we have. Or the loyalty.

Take me home, Country Roads, to the place I belong: Mountaineer Field on game day.

M anhandled Missouri, 26-11

O rdinary against Youngstown, 38-21

U nnerving miracle goalline tip/interception escapes BYU, 35-32

N o quit against Kansas State, 17-16

T ony’s turbulence tore up Texas Tech, 48-17

A nother defense whipping, of TCU, 34-10

I gnominy of turnovers against Oklahoma State, 20-37

N o problem decimating Kansas, 48-21

E xcellent, timely defense AGAIN; beat Texas, 24-20

E rectile dysfunction Oklahoma

R oll over Iowa State

S uffocate Baylor

And here all this time I thought it was 'Mamby- Pamby' lol...I have learned something...regardless I agree, this needs to be a BIG turnout...and weather doesn't look like 48...more like 34 come halftime (at this point), was hoping for the 3.30 kick but the 8 will be just fine...bundle up a little more...

Us older generation alums stuck around in 93, sawed up both Goal posts, and left out on Sunday after partying just like it was a cold Grant Avenue Block Party or a cold winter night on Sunny Side. The older generation rules. None of this Mamby-Pamby stuff lol.

I represent the punka$$ millennial gen & a recent WVU grad (2013). You better be damn certain I would stay an extra day and go to the BIGGEST game since we've joined the Big 12.

As a matter of fact I went back for the last WVU/PITT game back in 2011 the day after Thanksgiving which was well worth it.

And lastly, who cares sell the tickets to REAL fans who will stay the entire game.

The students are being kicked out of the dorms on Friday. Can't totally blame poor student attendance on them.

Really???
My how things have changed. When I was there, there were students that stayed from August through finals week and never left. Not large #s but some. Same as with the spring semester-January through finals and no leaving on Spring Break. Oh well, I still say the younger ones are missing out.

Students who live in private apartments have the ability to stay. Students who live in the dorms have to leave. I want to say it's the post 9/11 times we live in but I think it was even that way in the '80s when I lived in Summit.

In 93' I was a freshman in towers and they kept the dorms open for an additional day just due to the Miami game. IMO that was a bigger game but still...

I seem to remember it being covered in the DA how the students would have to leave.

Either way, I will reserve judgement until we see if the general public picks them up. From what I understand, they didn't sell their allotment either so this all might be a mute point.

In all honesty, we should have a 55k seat stadium. The talk of expansion is crazy talk. Even in 93' when we went undefeated their were plenty of empty seats. I wouldn't have believed it until I found a bunch of old pictures a few years ago from my freshman year.

+1 on students being forced out of the dorms. 60% of those that normally attend the game are housed in the dormitories. So, unless they have a place local to them to shack up, then they have to return home. WVU needs to address this in the future. It kicks us in the teeth every year.

Dorms closing doesn't help. In my 4 years at WVU, I only missed 1 game and it was against South Florida my freshman year. Game fell on Thanksgiving Break and dorm was closed.
