Student calls for changes in Student Section

The day we went to a ticketing system for students to attend games is the day we forever altered student attendance at games.

I agree! We used to have to get there really early for good seats..no ticket needed, only your student id. It will definitely be louder if all students were together.

On the flip side, if you are WVU, you can sell these seats that the students aren't using...hence the seperated section.

How many times is the upper student section full?

Football changes will proudly be coming as well so that they can sell more tickets. More tickets equal more revenue for my alma mater.

Well I call for a change in the students.

In particular, the Maniacs.

---------

Childish and cartoonish name for a group of college students. Zero originality supporting the team during the games (although I have no idea what they do behind the scenes).

Give me ten minutes and I could come with the very usual 'left, right, left' or 'first down' crap... ..and in 15 something that's never been done.

Get over yourself.

It'd take you 10 minutes? Hell, when I was Maniac director, we just made them up right on the spot.....

lol, 10 minutes....

yea_. ...left...right...left...

...oh, and 'first down'.

You cannot force a student to attend basketball games. Today's student has their collective heads buried in their cell phones and computers. Computer games have taken over. Spectator sports are no longer necessary. They will (at some point) go into their computers physically never to return. Most of them have never picked up a ball or any sort and have never done enough work or exercise to elevate their heart rate beyond about 60 bps. Sad state of affairs. Today's kids. Now, I sure wish my wife would bring me another bottle of that Grape soda.

I'd like to know what rationale, if any, was behind adopting a lottery system for student tickets in the first place.

All I'll say is we're generating a ton of money selling those former lower level student seats to high rollers. and we need the money to compete in the Big 12.

It might "effect" student participation but the overall "affect" remains to be seen. Seems to me that if this guy wants to write he better get his word usage right. Did he pass the English competency test to avoid remedial English? ...or, did we do away with that requirement?
