Why do you need to know about Statesboro? Because after GSU whips you @ss you'll be want'n a remach and that will be at the home of the free and the brave, GSU.

Founded in 1803

During the Civil;War and General William T. Sherman's famous march to the sea, a Union officer asked a saloon proprietor for directions to Statesboro. The proprietor replied, "You are standing in the middle of town." The soldiers destroyed only the courthouse—a crude log structure that doubled as a barn when court was not in session

In 1906, Statesboro leaders joined together to bid for and win the First District A&M School, which eventually grew into Georgia Southern University. Statesboro inspired the blues song "Statesboro Blues", written by Blind Willie McTell in the 1920s, and covered in a well-known version by The Allman Brothers Band

Statesboro Blues...... That will be a very relevant song come Sept. 6...... It'll be echoing through the trailer parks in Statesboro for weeks, along with a plethora of BB King tunes. What people will subject themselves to for a mere $800,000. Is it really worth it Talon? We're talking kids here, and injuries.

Can you contact WVU and have them play Statesboro BLACK & BLUES in our honor .
I mean to the victors do go the spoils and it GSUs game and all.

I drove through Statesboro Ga. Back in 2007. Was a couple of weeks after a devastating hurricane blew through town. I was told by a local townie that the hurricane caused hundreds of dollars in improvements to the area.[banana]

Now Shud-up

Congrats on winning the Sun Belt. My son was a grad asst for GSU as an athletic trainer last year. However, his loyalties lie with WVU. No chance u guys win in Morgantown! Good luck, you'll need it!

One of my Army buddies lives in Louisville, Georgia and has been telling me that we don't stand a chance against Georgia Southern and it makes me laugh. He had a brother law that played for them back in the late 80's by the name of Ernest Thompson during the Coach Russell years.

Tenn. EER - "Ernest Thompson during the Coach Russell years.

ET was our short yardage specialist. He didn't have the most amount of yardage as an A back, but put him in at the 2-1 yard line & he would hurdle the offensive and defensive line for a TD. Fans use to throw Reese's Pieces at him at the game. (ET CALL HOME) ET had a tremendous vertical leap. I think he had 37 TDs.

AND YOUR ARMY BUDDY IS RIGHT! .................. ;-)

Stay tuned. This isn't the Sunbelt.

I have a $2 bill bet with "The Couch". While "The Couch" has delusions of grandeur towards his WVU team I sense a practicality in your posts. Let us make a small token of a wager. A GSU shot glass for a WVU shot glass. GSU shot glasses are 2 oz. vs WVU's 1 oz. but that's OK. I might even send you and "Couch" one anyway to meter your debauchery 2 onces at a time after you lose.

Debauchery - "bad or immoral behavior that involves sex, > ( with WVU fans that would be mountain goats & sheep) drugs, alcohol! I post this term for Shortgap. He's a spelling Nazi with low vocabulary skills.

Having lived in GA for 23 years I will state the following as facts:

1. For a lower level program GSU is a good program and the game will not be like playing William & Mary or even the stroll in the park that is putting 69 on the pathetic herd.

2. The Boro is a dump. Sand gnat central. Kids that go to GSU are the ones that can't get into UGA or Tech. It's nothing more than an extension of high school.

3. WVU will win - period.

Our shot glasses are smaller because our hooch is stronger, about like everything else compared to GSU.

That's a CAPITAL (N-O) "Couch"... I have a small copper still (1 gallon) that makes the best, smoothest 190 proof in Florida.

If you and Tenn. are lucky I'll take pity on you savage souls for and send you a half pint after we beat you down!.

I usually fry chicken wings at our tailgate. Might have to get some eagle wings to fry up(all legal like).. or is a chicken and a Georgia eagle the same bird?

Wow.... that's a big chicken! I'd have to bring a bigger grill to put him on. You like Memphis, Texas, or Carolina BBQ sauce... Oh, hell, I'll bring all three.. You make sure to bring that chicken! We can work with that DEER too.

Nice.... you must have traveled to Napa to get a pic of this at the, Charbay Winery and Distillery. Sweet. Surprised they let GSU fans in, it's very prestigious, and upscale.

Can't pull a fast one on me goober. If we're playing those games, here's my wife:
