No, you are 0-12 when the game is actually played. If we would have played last year it would be 0-13 after yet another double digit beat down. Moral Victories, when you have nothing else.

So by your own admission WVU has a better bball program then UNC and should never be ranked ahead of WVU even when they don't play?

See the difference is we have beaten UNC. UNC has a better basketball program but they have never beaten WVU. You have never beaten WVU in football and West Virginia has a much better football program. Marshall receives a few votes but is ranked in the mid sixties by everyone else because you did not beat one top 50 team. Not a single one.

My OP was just to point out, The Sporting News, thinks our QB is pretty good. Also thinks there are 5 QBs in the B12 that are top 16 QBs in the country(Schedule is a bitch in this league). The simple fact of pointing that out sends The Cows into an apoplectic seizure, and they will never admit WVU's superiority, regardless of the schedule differential, the actual head to head record, power rankings, etc. Heck, I've seen a couple of WVU fans on here even compliment Litton, thinking he'll be pretty good. Just shows the deep rooted inferiority complex Herd fans walk around with every day. There may be meds or cognitive therapy for that.

The sporting news may think your QB is pretty good, he very well may turn out to be. That's not proven as of yet. Also, the coaches poll thought we were better he past three seasons. That's in black and white and has been proven by those that vote
 
Thanks Couch, but here's how WE truly view you:

Stage 1: We see you gloat in early Spring, touting a bunch of preseason BS (see your post as Exhibit A)

Stage 2: You win a few games in September over the likes of 'the sisters of the poor', and you folks turn into braggerts, and we listen to things like, "Our defense is the best in the nation", "I'm making hotel reservations to the Playoffs", "We can beat Bama".

Stage 3: Then November arrives, and you take your rightful place, sandwiched between Iowa State and Kansas.

Stage 4: "At least we made more money than Marshall".

Those, my friend, are the annual 4 Stages of Ear Misery. We see it EVERY YEAR.

Every other metric, other than the biases of conference coaches, has WVU better every year, and generally by a very wide margin. So, if there were 10 metrics and in 9 of the 10 Team A was ranked higher, but in one "subjective" metric, Team B was... What would be your conclusion? You do realize coaches have a vested interest in ranking conference mates highly, especially in conferences and divisions that don't generally get much respect. Plus, there is an appeasement type vote in order to keep the peace between the P5s and G5s. I don't think P5s care that much about "also receiving votes". A long time ago, WVU fans used to worry and take pride in that sort of recognition, particularly when we were Independent. Now, we really don't care, as it's not our goal.

You guys are priceless. Look at your schedule.....Hell, any year. Sisters of the Poor (LMAO)?

We were "sandwiched" between Baylor and Texas Tech(both bowl teams) last year, and Texas and Oklahoma State the year before. Only once were we between Iowa St. and Kansas (who would both beat Marshall), it was in our second year in the conference. However, don't let facts stand in the way or your neurosis.

Keep getting beaten by MAC teams, being WKU's bitch, playing in pre-Christmas Day bowl games against absolutely no one, and living vicariously WVU's boards looking for some twisted validation... It's hilarious. CUSA....SMH

And, yeah, we make a shit ton more money too; rightfully so. Beware of the state budget cuts, along with your conference inking a deal that pays less than your last one. Sort of puts things into perspective doesn't it?

"Hey, we played a top 25 team this year !!!" says any CUSA stiff who played Moo U. It's kinda smart when you think about it... if you're a retard.

I'm curious, has Marshall ever beaten UNC in basketball? I think I asked this question last week but it was never answered. I assume the answer is no or you would have answered.
 
You probably would have been better served, assuming nobody pays much attention to your posts, as well as assumed nobody gives a shit how Marshall has fared against UNC more than five decades ago.

Somehow they believe there is shame in us never losing to UNC on the court but no shame in never beating us on the field in 12 tries. After all they get a few votes despite their best victory being over the #65 Southern Miss. Eight of their wins came against team ranked 100 to 200+. Talk about sisters of the poor.

God, this discussion gets so tiresome. I don't know a single Marshall grad who doesn't know that WVU is a far superior program - the people claiming to be Marshall fans who come over here to actually debate this issue are in the minority and, in all probability, not really Moo fans. If they are in fact Moo fans, you just know it just eats them up that we beat teams like Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Clemson, Okie State and TCU while they are losing to Middle Tennessee State, Akron and Ohio U. You know it eats them up that we have played in, and won, three BCS bowls while they still rally around a GMAC Bowl win. You know it eats them up that our fans complain about the price of tickets while Moo gives tickets away (yes, actually gives out free tickets) to try to fill a high school football stadium. You know it eats them up when Game Day comes to Morgantown and all they get is Chuck Landon. You know it eats them up that they know that they can never compete on the field with us, can never compete financially with us can never compete with us from a prestige standpoint. You know it eats them up that after a miserable football season, they have a first round exit in the Conference USA bball tourney to look forward to while we all wonder how far we will go in the NCAA. Listen, the more bullshit the Moo fans throw out in an attempt to justify their second rate program, the more apparent their desperation and insecurity becomes.
