Huntington (W.Va.) Spring Valley 2019 offensive lineman Doug Nester told me that he had no idea that West Virginia was close to offering him a scholarship but he told me that he has been speechless about it. Nester grew up rooting for West Virginia, as well as Ohio State, and took a visit to campus this past season with Riley Locklear and right now there is obviously interest in the program. Nester started last season at left tackle for Spring Valley and is 6-foot-4, 279-pounds, as a freshman and likely projects as a tackle at the college level once he stops growing. The in-state prospect told me that he plans to visit schools over the next couple years and if he finds a school he likes he plans to make a college decision sometime during his junior year. I'll have more in an article tomorrow but sounds like the Mountaineers will be right in the mix here although it is very early.
