Tampa (Fla.) Plant quarterback Rex Culpepper visited this past weekend and as I've said it's been difficult to get information on him in large part because he doesn't like dealing with the media and is focused on his high school season. Well, I spoke to his head coach today and he told me that he had a good trip to West Virginia over the weekend and really liked his experience including watching practice, meeting with the coaches and going over film. Still he is nowhere close to making a decision and after visiting Oklahoma, Missouri and Morgantown he plans to head to Texas this weekend. His head coach said that he is a very intelligent kid off the field that has never gotten less than an A his entire academic career. It was refreshing that most of the time we talked about how he was off the field including the fact he can play six musical instruments but the gist of it is this is a very humble kid that isn't making this process completely about him instead deferring the attention to preparing for his team and readying for the season. His coach expects he'll have a decision sometime after the smoke clears this spring or early summer and obviously West Virginia is in the mix due to the visit and the relationship he has with the coaching staff.
