We have an NCAA rep here, Ryan Steinberg. Ryan works with Oliver Luck as the assistant director of enforcement in football. He was previously the recruiting coordinator for the fat man at Maryland and then for Randy Edsall. He came and found me today and we had a great discussion. If the NCAA were always this transparent you guys would feel so differently toward them. I've always been a rules guy so we were able to discuss a lot of policy in-depth and it was really fun. We also were able to cover things like open practices and the media being locked out because Ryan could talk from both angles, as an NCAA rep and as a former football staff member.

The one thing that I found really interesting is how he told me right off that he wasn't here to investigate what we were doing and it was more to learn about how they can improve for both schools, businesses and most importantly the kids.

Additionally he was really open about specific schools and their issues, even WVU's silly probation and talked about some clowns we deal with in my industry. It's hilarious what they know but don't have the jurisdiction to enforce. Some schools and people would be in major trouble if the members (all schools) had not put so many restrictions in place.

Probably one of the most interesting conversations I've been part of in a long time.
