--West Virginia's offense was 3/10 on third down and 2/3 on fourth down and averaged just 3.7 yards per play. The Mountaineers had three fumbles and two times inside the 30 came away with zero points, two others they had to settle for field goals.

--The defense held Penn State to just 49 yards rushing on 14 carries (3.5 yards per carry) and the longest two runs were a 15-yard run by Drew Allar and an 11-yard run by Beau Pribula. The longest carry by a running back was just seven yards. But on the flip side, Allar completed just 8 passes for 199 yards and 3 touchdowns. That's an average of 24.5 yards per completion and they already have two 50+ yard pass plays in this game including what unfolded at the end of the second half. There's just no excuse for that.

--Penn State is just bigger and faster than West Virginia, but the Mountaineers haven't done themselves any favors at all. The rushing attack is averaging just 2.8 yards per carry and Greene is 10-18 for just 89 yards with the longest being a 25-yard toss to Kole Taylor that was almost intercepted. The bright side, is that this offense can definitely play better but right now they just aren't helping themselves in the slightest.

--Still it's 20-6 and Penn State gets the ball to start the second half when this delay is over. Two score game, but the first five minutes is going to be critical.
