You being one of them.

Now for the actual numbers, since VaultHunter can't count (and has shortchanged Kansas St on multiple threads):

Oklahoma = 8 (2000, 2002, 2004, 2006-2008, 2010, 2012)
Texas = 3 (1996, 2005, 2009)
Baylor = 2 (2013, 2014)
Kansas St = 2 (2003, 2012)
Nebraska = 2 (1997, 1999)
Colorado = 1 (2001)
Oklahoma St = 1 (2011)
Texas A&M = 1 (1998)
TCU = 1 (2014)

There were 2 years with co-championships, 2012 and 2014. Both teams are recognized by the conference as champions in those seasons. That rule has now changed for 2015 and beyond as we're all aware.

Pretty sad that Texas can only manage 3 conference championships in 20 years, while their main rival nearly triples them.

The Horns have to be the most underachieving program in America, and if they're not I'd love to hear who is.

Remember that the 1996 title came under John Mackovic. I always think of it this way: While Stoops and Brown were both the head coaches at those schools, Oklahoma won or shared the Big 12 title 8 times and Texas did it just twice.

I don't mean to downplay the 9 consecutive 10-win seasons Mack Brown compiled at Texas because I'd certainly sign up for half those, but it definitely seems like the Longhorns should've won more conference titles than that.

It probably also should be noted that all 5 times in 19 previous seasons that the Big 12 champion has gotten through conference play unbeaten, that school either won the national title or reached the title game and lost.

As always, hard to tell what his point was supposed to be... but that he was using both erroneous and irrelevant stats is hilarious.

Vaulthunter aka Keaton?

I also see that Pitt has won no ... nada ... zero ... Big 12 Championships.

BTW .... I hope that we sneak into a bowl against Pitt (is it possible?) and kick their butt.

It could happen in Orlando since the Russell Athletic Bowl is a Big 12/ACC matchup. However, I think WVU would need a very serious turnaround because that bowl selects third in the Big 12 pecking order. Don't see them passing on an available Oklahoma St or Texas or somebody to take WVU unless we have a major surge to the finish like Baylor did in 2012.
