--Detroit (Mi.) Martin Luther King running back Martell Pettaway is no doubt a big pickup for West Virginia. He is one that has been strongly leaning towards the Mountaineers for quite some time but had been holding off. As you can tell by what I posted earlier, I got word that this was in the works and it happened this afternoon.
--Pettaway is the first West Virginia commitment from Michigan excluding junior college players since Detroit safety Derek Knight in the class of 2007. That's a long drought but credit JaJuan Seider here for getting in there in a new area and establishing a strong relationship that obviously has paid dividends.
--While Pettaway is one running back in the 2016 class, expect at least one more. Obviously Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson running back Kennedy McKoy is one to watch but there are several others.
--I saw Pettaway in person at the Rivals Camp Series stop in Cleveland and he really impressed me with his physical size, as well as his speed. He catches the ball very well out of the backfield as well and is a bowling ball of a running back on film.
--Buckle up, this could be a wild week.
