so you hit ten feet above the pin and the ball rolls

I'm not a golfer because I sucked at the game the several times I tried to get into playing on a regular basis. I do enjoy watching these skilled athletes. The best we can say about this course is that at least all the players are on an equal footing.

Maybe this stuff IS a little more acute this week than at other Open venues. But, it's hardly unknown; hell, the players almost marched on USGA Headquarters after dealing with the setup of Olympic's greens some years ago.

The USGA forces the Open players to think more than they're used to; and for one week a year, the term "pin-hunting" is removed from their vocabulary. It's still the ONE thing which truly differentiates this Championship from every other.

getting ready for our annual church yard sale and some old guy donated two dozen Dunlop 110 compression balls...they've got to be 25-30 years old...still in the cellophane....could you ever swing that hard?

back in the day I has access to a golf cart at a country club..they allowed me to go fishin for golf balls at night..I'd usually wait until after a Florida best ball tourney....it was a gold mine..one night I filled two five gallon buckets..at one time I had over 80 egg cartons with golf balls stored in them..oh to be young again

a friend of mine in Harrisonburg,Va is an accomplished scuba diver....he has a "contract" with several area courses to go in their lakes and get balls....he says he's making a killing

I don't know anything first hand about recovering balls but I just made my first purchase from lostgolfballs.com which sells refurbished balls. I would guess the majority of them come from bottom of lakes. Very happy with my first purchase of these balls as it is so much cheaper to get quality balls.

I have never bought used balls, although in my time I sure found enough on my course that I ended up playing with......the one qualm I would have about used balls is how long they may have been at the bottom of the lake..the possibility of being super waterlogged would concern me

110's.....would probably dent my driver (and, at the same time, separate both my shoulders on contact).
