...for the huge game against Kansas ?

Today should have been packed...but wasn't... ....Huggs must have become comfortable with our crap attendance because he doesn't even bitch about it (much) anymore.

From the era (of about ten seasons) when I could attend WVU basketball games I recall averaging between 13 and 15 k... .....or is my memory faulty ?

Highest average was in 2010 and it under 12,377

2,000 short of a sellout for a team that never left the top 10 all season.....shameful

Last season at 10,189 was the 6th best in the Coliseum's existence

But, but, but... the broadcast announcers said it was a sell-out crowd!

You guys do know that class is not in session right now and that's like how many THOUSAND seats that go unused?

I don't even watch basketball till March but I know that.

We just do not have the population in or within a half hour or so of Morgantown to sell out that place every game. I think we should average 10-11k every game though! It is tough to get there on a work/school night but I try to get to 3-4 games a year. The seating situation doesn't help things...you got plenty of empty seats in the lower level every game and all you can buy as a fan are uppers. I still don't get that....we need some sort of Ticket Exchange program (not Stubhub) that makes it easier for the casual fan to be able to take his kids to the game, get good seats, and not have to take out a loan to do it.

I hope that, when the Coliseum renovations and skyboxes are installed, that the seating capacity is reduced. It makes no sense to have all those seats when there is a minimal chance they can sell them. Much rather see more sellouts.. You could see empty seats in lower level on TV yesterday and that is not good for the program.

Aren't there 30,000 students at WVU? The stadium capacity is 13,000 or so. There are more than enough people in the area.

I live maybe 45 minutes from the Coliseum and would love nothing more than to attend the games there with my 3 grand-kids. Sad truth is - I can't afford it, and I make decent money. WVU athletics have priced themselves out of reach for the average working man. The time constraints of my job doesn't make it feasible to buy season tickets, and so whenever we do get to go it's general admission with seats in the rafters while seats in the lower levels go unused. Couple that with over priced parking or walking a mile or two......and it just is easier to watch the game from the couch. Maybe that's the price we have to pay to be at the level we all want our teams to be at, but it sure does translate into a lot of empty seats.

Students only get a portion of the seats in the coliseum. The season ticket holders are the ones who don't show up....it's frustrating seeing all those lower level seats empty on TV yet advertised on Stubhub for 5x the face value

Pittsburgh has, what, 2 million residents?

Pitt built a basketball arena that seats 12,000......2,000 less than WVU...... And still doesn't fill it

It is about knowing your fan base..... WVU has a bandwagon basketball fan base.

Hell, when we had a team that NEVER LEFT THE TOP 10 the entire season (2010), we still averaged less than 13,000 fans a game.

Seat reduction is heavily needed.

Official Coliseum capacity is 14,000, averaging 13-15k would be a stretch as the 2014 average was about 10,200. Game should be at capacity or more if they decide to sell SROs.

I think (don't know, but think) that economics is somewhat at play.
