KState has to be desperate now. Will Mahomes play (no is my guess)?

I kind of hope Mahomes feels the heat and plays. Could stand for him to take a few more hits on that shoulder before we play them.

If you like contrast then this is the perfect game to watch. Texas tech offense one of the best in college football but one of the worst defenses. K state good defense but horrible offense. Polar opposites collide.

Taco Tech ??

Some fans throw rolls of toilet paper on the field, Texas Tech fans throw tacos. They have for years.

The back-up for TT is a pocket passer. K-State's front four could eat him alive unless TT adds an extra blocker or two up front. Five guys aren't going to handle those four and then you've got the linebackers to contend with. A back-up on the road on his ass a bunch isn't a good thing no matter how flashy your offense is.

Mahomes is more mobile but it's his dominant shoulder that's hurt. Pitch plays of any kind will likely be tough for him to pull off consistently. Accurate throws could be a real crapshoot, plus he's going to get the crap knocked out of him. Again they're going to have to add another blocker or two to handle K-State's front four if they want to keep him healthy for the season.

How TT handles K-State's front seven will determine this game.

Dang.

....and I was thinking it was some current 'not politically correct' type thing.

I hope its soft tacos. I remember a game I attended in the late 90's against Maryland some jerk kept throwing golf balls and we ended up getting flagged because someone threw a whiskey bottle.

Probably the same guy. He just ran out of golf balls.

Hmm . . .

I'm betting (not literally) that Mahomes finds a way to play and orchestrates an Air Raid offense that even K-State cannot withstand for four quarters. Even though it's a night game in the little apple, the Red Raiders should prevail 37-18.

I think they throw tortillas .... not whole tacos.
Nonetheless .... I kind of like calling them Taco Tech.

KSU bumps off Tech for the upset of the week. Tech has a defense ranked 124th out of 128 teams.

I wouldn't write off Kansas State. The crafty coach maintains possession which throws impatient go-go offenses off their stride. After all, WVU only scored 17 on KState & needed some timely defensive plays to survive. KState is never a walk in the park game for anyone. I know TTech's defense is poor and KState's offense isn't the best, but KState's defense is better than some give it credit for. Again, I wouldn't write off KState in this one. But I want to see what Texas Tech has against KState, since we are familiar with KState's strengths and weaknesses, because I think it will give us a better analysis of WVU's chances.

It should be an interesting game. I don't think it will be over till the 4th quarter.

"Upset"? Kansas St opened as a 7.5-point favorite.
I know that Vegas sets the line to get half the money on each side of the bet so that Vegas wins no matter which team wins, but I hope KState can win by a TD. Or better. But I'm more interested in seeing the game with my own eyeballs so that I can compare TT against WVU via the KState prism.

We also had another foul saved when one golf ball landed in the endzone and a member of the band ran out and grabbed it before the refs saw. Got a nice ovation for the save. He was one of my neighbors.

TT is much like our 2012 team with a stellar offense and horrid defense. Pretty sure TT was this same kind of team 2 years ago. KState is usually one to eat a team like that for lunch.

Since playing Kansas last week the Texas Tech defense jumped from 124 to 112 ranked defense. Their highest ranking since 2012.
