So we upgraded conferences

when is WVU going to upgrade?
what you did was move from basically a 1-A conference to a decent group of five league. WVU is now, has always been, and always will be Division 1 Power 5........something the herd will NEVER see......so sit back down until you are called on

Currently, you're looking at something like this, when it comes to conferences:

Tier 1 - SEC, B1G
Tier 2 - ACC, Pac XII
Tier 3 - Big XII, Sun Belt, American, Mountain West
Tier 4 - MAC
Tier 5 - C-USA

Assuming Tier 1 doesn't break away from the rest of the conferences and does their own thing, in order to save college football, you're going to have to have an expanded football playoff, one that includes auto-bids for each and every conference. You cannot expect to maintain a fanbase if you're a fan of a school that doesn't have a shot at a national title before the season even kicks off. 10 Auto-bids, and 6 at large bids. Would make it entertaining for teams within Tiers 3 through 5, knowing at the very least, they have a shot at making the playoff by simply winning their conference. Example - I would watch a MAC title game between Akron and Ball State, knowing a shot at making the playoff was on the line, as would some additional football fans. As it is now, only fans of those two programs would dare tune into ESPN2 to watch that game. Same would be true when it comes to a future Big XII title game between BYU and UCF.

Tier 1 will break away as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow...if the sun doesn't come up football won't matter much!

Bro, you boys will have to learn to poop sideways if you're going to take a dump on us! You are in no better position than we are unless the Big 10 or SEC decides the Morgantown TV market and product is something they need!
As much as I hate to admit it, you’re right.

Humpliver...how are you today
Why do you boys persist in the notion that Humpy and Lilly are the same person? Isn't it possible that WVU has produced one lucid person (Lily) with an understanding of where WVU fits into the scheme of college football?

I always thought Hank Hill was a pretty realistic wvu fan. You don't think Lilly and he are one in the same, do you? He left out of here abruptly!

He didn't adhere to the party line coming out Morgantown...just hope he's not down the bottom of a coal mine shaft!

it is what it is......lilly is to humpy as KC is to tosu....and we all know it

Kind of comical seeing all the Herdiots think that moving to the Sun Belt was a huge move - to me it looks like a lateral one at best. As for us........Texas and Oklahoma aren't going anywhere until the Big XII grant of rights deal expires in a couple of years, so our 35 or 40 million dollars a year from the Big XII will keep rolling in. After that - who knows. but I'm damn sure that we are in a better situation conference wise than MU is.
