I really could not care less. If we win at fooseball then we will get in a P4 conference when this circus tent falls over. If we don't, we won't and deserve what we get.

This season could be a huge stepping stone to writing our own story instead of begging for a freaking handout like we did 5 years ago.

I care. Options for the future are slimmer than they were before and that didn't work out that well. With reports coming out of the meeting that no one was added then the sliding perception of the conference will accelerate. Money and the networks are killing athletics. Somewhere down the line it will implode. Now if the reports are wrong things could stabilize for WVU for a while.

I personally think there is a better chance of formulating a whole new conference when, or near the time, the GOR runs out, rather than the current XII expanding.

YEs it is good the way it is for now - but that is very short term. The conference needs a long term plan and that plan must include expanding its footprint. Long term plans need to find a way to keep the money in the same ball park as the other 4 power conferences so that Oklahoma and Texas have no financial reasons to leave.
