33 years since we beat a number 1 team at home. Their claim is act like we have been there before.

Why do they care so much about wvu up there? They can give 2 s**ts about college ball in that city. Wvu fans enjoyed a good win and the pitt media focuses on the negative. I expect it from them.

Wait until Pitt wins a big one....if they do. Bet if the fans/students etc rush the court, nothing will be said. They act very smug about sportsmanship which is laughable because if you've been to a Pitt game, a steeler or Pirate game.. and cheered for whoever they were playing, They have NONE. Pittiot hypocracy.

I am sitting here in North Central West Virginia wondering why anyone gives a rats ass about how the Pittsburgh media perceives us........... . We already know they view us as "holier than thou"......and our own media outlets are getting better all the time. As for me, all the networks are available through a local station and I support those.

Guess because i live in the Burgh and have to listen to the B.S.
You'd think the yinzer media would have bigger worries. Like the bad moves the Bucs are making or an under achieving Pens team. And perhaps the media up there has never seen excited fans at a college game. I can only hope and pray we get to play pitt in the big dance. We'll wipe the floor with those pussy cats!

I heard it mentioned but not a lot of airtime though. Ron Cook was very complementary. It was a great win. I say fvck it and rush the court! Well deserved!

I know a few Pittsburgh natives that work for the fed govt in Clarksburg/Bport. And they are all pompous jackasses.

I know them Greg, they are neighbors, coworkers and fellow Pittsburghers like me...and yes, many are just like you.

And....Western Pennsylvania remains the home of a large number of WVU alums....and with twenty plus years here myself, i think I can speak for the Burgh.

Sample size....really? I can count more than that in South Pittsburgh alone. Guess I found out what happens when you poke the bear. You lived there forty years...so you are older....big deal.
I don't believe you! You're irrational and arrogant. You mentioned an entire city pal. I think your sample size is really like ten people. Your arrogant! You don't even know me to put me in your lame post.

Pitt fans are an entire city. Read my post again. I speak of Pitt fans "just like you". Condescending, foul mouthed and ignorant.

Of course you can speak for the Burgh because you're arrogant. We actually call it Pittsburgh where I come from. I've been in Pittsburgh for over 40 years. Your reference of "large number of alum" represents what? Really I know an incredible amount of people and once you get out of Fayette County the numbers aren't that high. Especially in Pittsburgh where I live. Not saying your alums aren't around I just don't run into many WVU alums. What's a large number to you? Like 100. In 40 years I've run into way less than that. Just sayin
I'm arrogant, because I disagree with you and i called you out on your post. Picksburg, the Burgh....same place.

Root is a big part of the Pittsburgh sports media and it carries WVU games (and I'm sure would love more if it could get them) and our coaches' shows and is in no way anti-WVU.

Everybody is responding to a silly, non-specific and ridiculous generalization that at "all" the "P'burgh media " mentioned is that we stormed the court. It wouldn't be a big deal were it true, and it's not.

It's a dumb post that simply provokes people to betray needless insecurity.

Maybe you're just reading too much into the post. I could not care less about what Pittsburgh media is reporting or what some poster is saying about it. I just read this stuff to get a chuckle out of some of these posters. It's great entertainment at times.

They always have a wayward pitt poster show up here when times are good. I'm amazed at the ignorance about our Pittsburgh area alumni and all....but I should know better then to respond. I am always puzzled by why some fans always take sports personally. Everyone has teams they like, players, etc. My apologies to my WVU brethern for responding to it.

I lived in Mt. Lebanon for about 8 years and during my time there I met countless WVU fans and alumni. 100? Definitely.

Maybe you just need to get out more and be more social.

Do you belong to the local alumni chapter?

I agree.

I lived in Pittsburgh (Oakland) for a few years and in '93 a large local hotel hosted WVU parties in their bar area for televised games. Typically packed.

I'm not even sure that Pitt fans could go to a local bar to watch games with fellow fans.

Ehm, ummm...on a completely unrelated topic....

Once at a hotel party in Oakland I met a real hot chick who called herself...well, nevermind her name.

But..uh, anyways, if you're reading this babe, I was the guy in the hotel you did that thing with that one time that we said we wouldn't talk about ever again.

Would have been around '93.

So .... was "rushing the court" a widely discussed topic across various media outlets in Pittsburgh?

Or was it something that was briefly discussed by very few and now seized upon and is being exaggerated?

Honestly ... I don't know. I don't live in Pittsburgh.

Is someone making a mountain out of a mole hill?

During my time in Pittsburgh, I always felt their media was friendly towards WVU, perhaps treated even better than Pitt - not in terms of amounts of coverage but in general attitude.

There seemed to be a strong PSU presence within their media. They certainly don't get the hometown treatment most would expect.

You represented(in your mind) the entire city of Pittsburgh. And, you're confused. I called you out!

You're wrong friend. You attack and I react. You are hostile and arrogant and I feel sorry for your family

You don't really feel sorry for his family.. ...along with humor you also suck at (fake) sympathy.

You represented(in your mind) the entire city of Pittsburgh. And, you're confused. I called you out!
You did that actually. I responded to what I thought was your misrepresentation. Maybe you spend too much time at the country club. I see WVU plates and stickers on cars all over Pittsburgh, certainly many more than when i was at WVU in 1978.

Well some how you turned this into "I know you are but what am I". Oldie but goodie! Anyway, good luck to you in your future endeavors and I hope Pitt and WVU get all the way to the top in both sports. Next time I run into a WVU grad in Fox Chapel or my club I'll remember our exchange. Take care!
