Sagarin rankings for week 1 are out

So, based on this, we would be about 17 point favorites at home and 11 point favorites in Herdzakhistan.

That can't be right, hasn't Sagarin checked the coaches poll?

We have 8 votes in the coaches. Time to relentlessly celebrate then beat our chests when we clobber YSU.

Seriously, how do you drop in the polls without playing? I'm sure a Morgan State victory will put Moo back in the land of we're 1-0 and should be "receiving votes" bullshit. Fortunately, after the Louisville beatdown, you'll never be heard from again.....except here, of course.

even with a loss to WVU, Missouri is 26 places ahead of the moooooooooo...

What we have (once again), are a bunch of morons who don't understand how the Sagarin rating system works. Rifle has explained this annually for the last dozen years or so, but still, most of you are too narrow headed to understand.

The Sagarin rankings don't rely on a coach voting on his own team, or a sportswriter voting for his own favorite. Instead it factors in things like Strength of Schedule, something most Herdiots are too narrow headed or just too damn stupid to recognize as a factor. And by the end of the season it is incredibly accurate.

Yes, Mr. Depends, those are all factored into play. For example, Team A could play the top 12 teams in the country, lose all 12 games, and still maintain a high ranking within Sagarin, based solely on SOS. Hell, we can use WVU EVERY YEAR in this example.

Not to mention, Stone Cold still owes me $100.00 for the Herd finishing ahead of WVU in the Sagarin poll a couple years back. But, like most, he didn't pay up, so my charity had to go without his donation.

Some day--not in my lifetime, of course--WVU will finish No. 1 in Sagarin, but lose its last game, and the prominent delusional wing of its fanbase will claim a national championship. #Desperation

I believe you have us confused with Pitt fans.

Perhaps, but no day will ever come where Marshall will sniff the top 20 in Sagarin....ever....... and that's a long time. It's almost like taking 20 years to make what WVU and B12 teams make in a year.....No demand, no cheese......cept for ISIS fighters, of course. Allahu Akbar!

Not at all. Pittsburgh actually has won NCAA national championships in a sport that matters. Its fans might live in the past, but I don't think that a WVU fan with a handle boasting about peach-basket era victories over UNC has any room to talk about this subject. [laughing]

Have you not heard, they have taken over the state. Wherever they play in the state is considered a home game for the camel toed bison !

I see the two butt buddy sock puppets posting one after the other as usual.

Pitt claims 9 titles most of which came pre WWII where some newspaper ranked them #1. Are you mad because my handle is not 12-0vsMVU or wonlast7vsosu. Those are expected results.
