I just remembered when I played MCC, there had been a really bad flood the summer before and they almost didn't have the US Mid there.

It was a great trip. Erin Hills lived up to expectations. I shot 80 in a pretty stiff wind. I played well there. We stayed on site and they have incredible accommodations and great food. Cool place. The Blackwolf Run courses were really good. 74 at Meadow Valleys and 89 at River (36 that day and I was out of gas the 2nd 18). Whistling Straits-Straits is ridiculously hard especially with the wind howling. There isn't an easy shot on that course. So intimidating. I shot 92 there. It's the highest score I've shot in years. Irish was really good too. 83 there. But the highlight of the trip was Milwaukee CC. I love old classics. I shot 81 there and pissed away so many shots. I could play that course every day. Really cool atmosphere there.

Laat year I played in Wisconsin for the first time and it was actually my first round out of the south in about 20 years. So i am used to Bermuda. I actually struggled hitting off of bent in the fairways. You are much better than me but do you struggle in your travels hitting off of different grasses?

No doubt I do. I play on Zoysia fairways at my home course and that's the easiest turf to hit off of. It's like the ball is on a tee. But tightly mown bent or fescue (Straits) requires so much more precision-especially around the greens. I'll lose a shot or two every round for mishits off of bent that I get away with at home.

Yes, i also play some zoysia and i was considering that with my Bermuda comment.

I birdied 9, and maybe 12, shot 75 there and 75 at Brown Deer. The pin was far right on 9 and if you hit it long center right the ball would roll back. Seems like I had about 130 with ball below my feet and I hit a smooth 9 iron exactly where I wanted it, rare that that ever happens, and it rolled down for a tap in. Course looks better than after the flood. I think in tournaments, you don't always get to appreciate the course. Nice clubhouse and they had a physical therapist there for us to utilize during the tournament

What my buddy and i joke about was last year at the World Am in Myrtle, so many guys from across the country and especially foreigners were bitching about the Bermuda. Seems it is tougher tto play Bermuda versus vice versa as many of these guys didn't come close making decent shots.

I almost drove 9. The tee was up a bit and it was only playing about 300. I hit it to the false front and it rolled back down the hill leaving about 40 yards. I wedged it to 12 ft and made it. Good risk-reward on that hole.

Just played in the Goldenhorse 4 ball. The newly renovated, opened two weeks ago, Gold course was excellent and has 007 bent on it. Very thick, salt water tolerant. It will be interesting to see in a couple of years after the greens have been aerified and matured some. My partner and I finished 2nd, 11 under, one off winners.:joy:

did you have ANY conversations with Russians, descendants of Russians, or anyone who's name is spelled remotely like a Russian name?. If you did Robert Mueller wants to speak with you

ever play James River CC in Newport News?........got an event there soon

Just finished playing Big Bend Golf Course last weekend. Fairways are a burnt/mud/grass mixture. All 18 greens now have a cup in them, so that's nice.

Spectators can be annoying. Then again, so can the cut off t shirts.

Sure, many times. Have shot under par there a couple of times. New course super over the last two-three years. Supposed to be better now. 18 runs out to the bay. Beautiful hole.
