(AP Charleston) After a year of relevance, it appears Marshall University is poised to renew what seems to be an inescaple rivalry. With key players such as star quarteback Rakeem Cato departing after last season, the Thundering Herd will once again compete against the local ASPCA to see who which program can put the biggest pile of sh!t on a field. While Coach Doc Holiday is convinced the Herd can continue its dominance of the rivalry, there is concern elsewhere in the Program. Athletic Director Mike Hamerick has already vocalized his concern that the State's support of the local shelter goes beyond what should be considered fair, and that it is possible that former WVU Athletic Director Oliver Luck may have supported the ASPCA's funding requests as an affront to the Marshall Program. Whether or not this is accurate, one thing is for certain; both the ASPCA and the Thundering Herd will return to their respective facilities this season, fully prepared to stink up Huntington and the surrounding area.
