it's a foregone conclusion that Enemkpalis will be suspended and he may be facing jail time. i like the ryan's press conferences, but it's clear he's the reason the jets are the jets.

ryan has shown how a coach can cripple an organization - most important part of a team, by far.

We'll see how this plays out.

--a man uses a switch on a child and loses around a year of playing time. I'm not defending AP but that's hardly an unusual punishment to use on a child.

--a man tko's his 'to be' wife after she assaults him... ....and he's still not playing a year later ( although there are rumors that one Rex Ryan is interested).

...so we know if the 'victim' is a child or a woman the NFL comes down hard....but let's see when it's a black male.

This is good for Geno. Any income Enemkpali is future settlement dollars for Geno. I hope the Bills sign him to a big conract.

The NFL is a dirty place. Who breaks a co-worker's jaw and receives a job offer the following day?

I agree.

Do you think Geno is facing pressure to NOT press criminal charges (from peers and the Jets) and would you agree that's a huge mistake regarding any future lawsuit ?

At first I thought this was a joke. I did a Google search and found out its real. I don't get why anyone signs a backup lb that is that DUMB.

Wow. As for pressing charges and suing, that breaks "man law" in the NFL. Plus, thi guy will be broke before going to court. I'm betting he's not a big saver/investment guy.

What a league though?

I am not even a big believer in Geno as an NFL qb. He doesn't have it from the neck up. Then again only about 10 guys on the planet do. Still you can't just slug someone in the work place get fired, and go to work for the competition 24 hrs later. No other industry (even mma) would allow this.

With the NFL's culture being what it is, no doubt. However, that probably sets Geno up for an even more lucrative lawsuit, not just against Enemkpali, but against the NFL and Jets. A co-worker broke his jaw on company property and did his employer call the police (I don't know)? They released the player, only for the player to be signed the next day by another team. Culture problem? I'd certainly say so.

If Geno loses his starting position due to this assault and subsequently faces a decline in his career and income, I certainly feel Geno would have a legitimate lawsuit against the NFL and Jets.

Geno was assaulted by a co-worker, on team property while working and was severely harmed...

Employer did not call law enforcement (again, I don't know)....

Employee released player...

Player was signed the next day by Geno's former coach and to a team within Geno's own division (forced to play against the person who assaulted him)...

Due to NFL culture, Geno was placed under pressure NOT to file charges for assault...

I dunno, that seems like a pretty easy lawsuit to argue, imo.

Obviously, we don't know all the facts yet. Maybe Geno threw the first punch and maybe Jets management urged him to file a police report, who knows.

IMO, I'll be surprised if Geno files any kind of action unless he gets flushed by the NYJ.....and then probably only if he's convinced he's cashed his last NFL paycheck.

It also doesn't help that some national media.....especially ESPN and their guy, Ryan Clark, who's certainly acting as though he's got something personal against the kid......seem borderline obsessed with hanging him out to dry in this situation. Maybe it's warranted and maybe it's not; the only thing I think I know is that I don't believe there's any coincidence that about 95% of the video "highlights" ESPN shows on screen (while talking heads like Mike & Mike are discussing the situation) have Geno turning the ball over in one manner or another.

I also agree with some of the earlier listed points that it's fairly clear Geno has made (rightly or wrongly) a fair number of enemies. As for IKE to Buffalo, it looks to me like little more than a Rex Ryan parting shot (of sorts) at the Jets. Finally, I don't think I've ever heard more "buts"......as in "Nobody deserves to be hit BUT you can't help wondering what prompted the shot"......by talking heads in opining over this particular story.

So we know Enemkpali is capable of assaulting a police officer, and we know he's capable of assaulting a teammate/co-worker to the point of breaking his jaw (there's your pattern of violence). But only a day after the assault, without knowing any true facts, a NFL franchise was able to offer him employment. I dunno, does that sound like someone you'd feel comfortable and safe working around?

IMO, the NFL doesn't seem all that concerned for the safety of it's employees and the employees of their franchises. I'd hate to be a woman working for the Bills who's required to interact with Enemkpali, or any employee who is being forced to work around a blatantly violent individual.

Generally, people don't get sucker punched unless they are doing something to cause it. Not saying this is Geno's fault, just saying that there is likely another side to this story.

You know, I really don't think most NFL teams......I don't want to say ALL, because I don't know if that's the case.....really give a shit about a player's personal history if they believe he's capable of helping them win games. At the end of the day, that's all the NFL is about; and if such a player doesn't help them do just that.....or eventually becomes violent with another employee.....the Team figures they can simply cut him (given no guaranteed League contracts) without any additional obligation.

Of course, how they then address the issue after the fact of the Trainer......or perhaps a female Administrative Assistant......getting decked (or raped) by the guy is an entirely different kettle of fish.

I ain't no Geno fan. He's a whinner and a cry baby that thinks the world owes him something. My thing is that the entire mess centers around a stinking $600 plane ticket. Hail, pay that stinking $600 and get over it!

I have to agree in part with WiiWii. Normally a person isn't on the receiving end of a sucker bunch for no reason at all. I'm not saying it can't happen that way....its just improbable. Geno owing $600 to him is likely the root source of it all though. Who knows how it escalated into an assault on his soup slurper....maybe Geno told a "Momma" joke that he didn't appreciate. :boxing:

Rex Ryan is NOT head coach material. Bills signing the loser as their head coach clearly shows the Bills have zero interest of ever winning a Super Bowl. He's a defense coordinator, nothing more. As a head coach, you must care about all phases of the game. He doesn't, he only cares about defense. The Bills offense will be among the worst for the foreseeable future, he'll do very little next to nothing to address it in the draft. 1st round will almost always be defense, same with 2nd round. Perhaps, he'll spend a 3rd or 4th rounder on a guy. He's a joke.

If Geno takes legal action then witnesses will be called and truth about who said what and who did what will come out.If I were a betting man I would bet that Geno does not follow through with legal action.

Witnesses called? No, because it will never go to trial. His attorney would take depositions and none of us know what would be said (although it appears all the statements would end with Geno being punched in the jaw) and Enemkpali would settle. Most accounts have been that the confrontation was over $600 and some say Geno had a finger in Enemkpali's face, which legally means very little.

I agree it's unlikely Geno will follow through with legal action but only because it would break the NFL locker room code.

I can't speak to your parentage, but taking a switch to a 3 year old IS unusual for that age. It is also unusual for there to be injuries still visible a week later.

Richie Incognito is on that team as well. That's got to make for a super tight-knit brotherly locker room.

Ok....here's my story...

Uncontrollable brat at age 3.....impressive young child by age four.

------------

....and thx for conceding that using a 'switch' on a child isn't at all unusual....but you just think AP started a little early.

It isn't just that he started early. But if there are still injuries apparent a week later, that's pretty excessive.

Rex just signed Ellis Lankster so I assume he's a genius now?
