the tournament is putting that to rest. heck, the new big east is even better than the new big 12...and i could not care less... only worried about wvu.

but...

i do get a laugh when i think back to all the crazy posts on this subject

I, for one, didn't give basketball a second thought when we changed conferences.

It was always, and in my mind it still is... , all about the impact the move had on football.

Don't get me wrong...I enjoyed the old BE in basketball (and the older BE in football too).... ....but being in ANY BIG 5 conference was good enough for basketball...

...and as you're attempting to point out.... .....really not that important anyway.

===============

Matter of fact.... ....we, and the Atlantic 10, had some high times.

It is a fool's errand to classify a league's worth from the result of one game.... When each teM plays 34-35 every season

Our league broke the Big East's existing record for most teams (%) in one conference who registered a top 25 ranking during the season

not to mention that only 20% of our leage registered a sub-500 record. At its best year in 2011-12, the year the Big East put 11 teams in the Dance, it had 32% of its teams register a sub-500 record

WVU faced opponents in 4 games with sub-500 records while in conference play this season

we faced 6 in the Big East's best year (2012)

You've posted that opinion more than once...and on more than this website.

Not that I'm included... ...pbut eople are basing opinions on more than a single game (as you continue to advertise). They are basing a 'league's worth' on several games that include several Big 12 teams against out of conference foes in the championship tournament.

The Big 12 looked (and really was) bad on (the real) day 1 of The Dance. That's that...no reason to makes excuses. Day 2 came along... ....time usually purifies truths.....

Lol. Just 2 questions...

Has Keaton ever been right on these forums? And has he ever admitted being wrong?

I've never seen that argument on here. The old BigEast roxked in basketball. The Big 12's been fun too but doesn't even come close. I think you're memory is going or you're imagining posts again.

I know I may be biased from the good old days, but in my humble opinion the old Big East vs the present day Big 12 is no contest. Syracuse, Louisville, Villanova, U Conn, Georgetown, St. John's , Pitt, Notre Dame, WVU, along with Marquette, Providence & Seton Hall was a conference that we will unfortunately not likely see the likes of again when it comes to not only tremendous match ups, but overall strength of conference. In my old mind it is not even close. I don't believe the natural geographic and long standing rivalries along with talent will ever be matched again in any basketball conference.

Well, I'll say this for Keaton...... when he does post his thoughts and opinions he also posts his facts and figures to support his position(s). And that beats the hell out posters and posts that don't.

I agree 100%. There was something magical about that conference. To watch that tournament and see it culminate at MSG on a 9pm Saturday night game with the whole country watching...it was something special.

He makes paperboy look like an ass on just about every post - not hard to do even on our idiot board.

What sort of disturbed individual continues to make posts like this?

First, none of the teams from today's BIG 12 will ever play teams from yesterday's Big East. There's no way to know which would come out ahead.

Second, the BIG 12 of today was excellent in it's OOC play this year--best in the nation. Also was the top rated RPI league. That hasn't changed because of three games, or even six games if that should be the case after today.

The most important thing to remember is that the Big East is a defunct conference and WVU is now thankfully a member of a major conference called the BIG 12. The Big East that was doesn't exist and WVU was never going to be a part of the new bb only version of the Big East in any scenario.

Nah, you are just trying to stir the pot like you always do. Good lord, let the Big Least go man!

Orlaco stated it best ---- the B12 had one bad day in college basketball. Day 1 of the Dance.

The rest of the days..... It was easily the best conference in America

I don't even like being in the big 12 but what you write is idiotic.

big 12 right now way way better than the big east from top to bottom. not even close.
