With the NIL, transfer portal available at the end of every season, the concept of recruiting changes drastically.
NIL, is not a school hiring a player to stay for any period of time past 1 season. You can only hope the good will stay long enough to make an impact.
Why would you not let someone else do the hard work of bringing in a player, developing them to a point and have school with deep pockets on the outside just pick and choose after you have put a lot of work and travel, to bring a player into your program?
Going to have to be major changes in how you recruit. Then there are the 90 percent who aren't going to pro ball, it transfers Y.O.Y. and not even wind up with an education. Are there now going to be zero academic standards? That can be pushed out by the courts.
Recruiting has to be puzzling for any coach now.
