RBG Analysis

You poor, slow bastard.

No I am not, last time I looked what you decide to watch on on your dime was called freedom not cancel culture
What's the difference? Cancel culture is just people organizing that effort. And they are free to do that as well, peaceful protest. You draw a distinction, but it's the exact same thing.

Br
You don’t know me and you don’t know what I’ve done or been through.....so how dare you give me the victim mentality speech.....you arrogant and judge mental douche....

Well, lets see...

So far, you've told us you've:

1) Been through the process as have your wife and step-children and it was difficult for all involved.
2) Your brother and his German wife have been through the process and it was easier for them.

You've complained and griped that nobody else has gone through your experience. Because you have gone through an experience that literally thousands have gone through, some having a more difficult time and some having an easier one, you are somehow the expert and that only YOU can express your opinions about it. Anyone who you feel isn't worthy is a "douche" and cannot have an opinion that differs from yours, even if they are quite knowledgeable about the subject.

You've turned this thread through numerous twists and turns in an attempt to rationalize your emotional views on various matters. When you can't twist your way out, you go immediately to name calling and ad hominem attacks.

Now, which one of us is being arrogant and judgmental, again?

Are you really that gullible, am I doxing people trying to get them fired, am I going to their houses and protesting, am I attacking their kids at schools, I could go on but you get the picture. No need for us to have any more discussion, if I want to argue with a rock I will go out in the back yard.

I was actually asking about the procedural changes. I’m not aware of any.

An example for you. Whether it be the I-29 (fiancé) or I-30 (spouse/children) you are required to file specific paperwork and then procedurally very detailed and specific paperwork and then evidence of relationship. The way this has always been managed by the USCIS is the process be made user friendly so as to not hire immigration attorney and pay $10K + in fees to navigate the process.

In previous Admins. As these files were being processed, if there was a mistake or missing date or something basic either missing or incomplete, the case officer would stay the file and notify the applicant formally with what was needed. Giving the applicant the ability to provide or cure the error or missing piece, then the file review would continue. New procedure under Trump/Miller mandates that case officers no longer make RFE requests or error notices, they just deem the file as denied or void and kick it back and require the entire process started again.

This is inhuman and it is for a specific purpose, to deter and make the process more difficult. This is one of many many procedural changes made that changes the process as a whole....

Sad actually.

How have people spoken abut Kaepernick? Is he still employed?

That's an opinion. Honestly, my perspective is that both parties exist to gather power for the party. That's how both act, and that's what breeds tribalism in those who think party means much. I like the Sinema model, and frankly the Manchin model. Both are willing to work toward solutions without caring about the party affiliations of those they work with.

We can all go back and forth about this candidate is this or does whatever. We need candidates who are less concerned about their party's approval and more concerned working toward a common goal. And a good way to tell whether your candidate does that, how do they refer to those who disagree with them, as evil or as someone with a different opinion?

I couldn't agree more. However, this two party system is what we have to work with. Rationally, we wouldn't/shouldn't need parties. We need people with beliefs and principles and are willing to take a stand for them.

But compromise is the catch-word here. If you want to get your principles passed into law, you have to compromise on other things to get them enacted. Quid pro quo, tit for tat, I scratch your back you scratch mine - whatever you want to use - still applies in the swamp.

I'm not sold on Trump as a person. I think he's pretty rotten to the core. He tends to bring out the worst in most people. While I don't share all his views, I share more of his than I do with Biden. Than I do with most Democrats. So, if you have principles you won't compromise, you have to vote the party/representative that most closely represents your views, even if they are morally despicable.

I believe you, but anyone who has dealt with the government knows what a nightmare it is. To blame a admin because of federal or state bureaucrats isn't productive, all admins have the same problem. I believe legal immigration should be curtailed as well, one of the things Trump and I disagree with, however in the case of wives and children I believe it should be fast tracked. Maybe a temporary permanent resident status until they can become citizens.

Another one making this statement to allow them to sleep at night. This is tribalism.......not America first but Party first......its starting to be more of a trend on here with some of you guys who deep down, are good people and see and know the truth of Trump.....but it still doesn’t bother you enough to stop it....

Have you inquired about the reason(s) this is being done?

How have people spoken abut Kaepernick? Is he still employed?
Yes he is making millions off nike and speaking engagements. And he is still dumb as a rock. Just so you know fool we followed Kap and were fans of his here at UNR. Both the wife and I had Kap gear, Now after you pull your head out of his ass and wipe the shit off I will entertain your answer.

And I'm not trying to shame or sway anyone. I tend to agree with your analysis of Trump the person. I also think he's trying to divide people. He seems to thrive on that. That's my main gripe with him. I have similar gripes with leading dems as well. The statements about the peace deal between UAE and Israel were stupid. If someone does a good thing, give them their credit due. I'm more likely to listen to someone's opinion with an open mind if they do that.

And when Nike hired him, what did people do? I'm not saying you're a bad person for turning him or the NFL off. You are absolutely within your rights. The kids who went after Laura Ingram's sponsors? They were also within their rights. Anyone attacking or threatening an individual over a difference of opinion is a different matter, and I'm opposed to that, but that's not cancel culture, at least not to me.

No! Ugh!

Again... it isn't "tribalism" or "Trump" or "MAGA". It isn't even party first.

Please, let me show you one last time with all sincerity.

Principles and values drive one to the correct party. NOT the other way around. The party doesn't create or drive my principles or beliefs. They come from religious beliefs, life experiences, views on issues, etc.

Because of those I tend to align more politically with what Republicans believe.

I have stated numerous times in many different threads that I feel that Trump is morally corrupt. I believe that Joe Biden is corrupt also. As was Hillary Clinton. As was George W. They all are. Some are just better at hiding it or convincing people they aren't.

I KNOW what DC is like. Trump is worse than some and less than others. He's just more open with it and more vocal. He cares about himself first. That makes him no different than anyone else there.

You still believe that there are inherently good people in DC who care about you, your family, etc. You're an idealist and that's cool. You hate Trump because he tramples on your views and you feel Biden is a good (or at least better) guy who won't. I on the other hand am a realist. I know they will only care about you if it benefits them in some way.

Of course, my brother makes the same comments as you.....

Your brother sounds like a great guy to me. He's got the brains in the family

But seriously, with no ill intent other than just understanding, have you inquired and what have they stated/lied about it?

if you have principles you won't compromise, you have to vote the party/representative that most closely represents your views, even if they are morally despicable.

I tangentially disagree here. I believe morals drive principles. There has to be a standard. You yourself eloquently laid that out in one of your posts. Our morality drives what we do and how we behave. It underpins our Laws, and structures how we treat one another. Part of what is disturbing so many Americans with this random violence and anarchy is the apparent lack of respect for personal property, common decency, Law and order. and even Life itself. If there is no basic respect emanating from a moral foundation for even Life itself, the rest is expendable.

The Left is trying to blame Trump for that, but ironically he's the guy calling for civility and respect for Life under the Law! The Left is very good at pointing out what's wrong, then blaming someone else for what they caused! If you really want to understand where this breakdown in society comes from, look no further than Leftist ideology that promotes Sex without consequence (on demand abortion) achievement without hard work and personal responsibility (affirmative action) work without merit or effort (Welfare State) envy of achievement and accumulation of personal wealth (confiscatory taxation) hatred of America and its institutions (Public Schools, Government bureaucrats and entertainment culture) and debasing of Faith or Religious expression (secular Humanism and situational moral relativism)

The confluence of these forces are anti-moral, anti-culture, anti-respect, anti-Religious, and ultimately anti-American, yet the Left who is responsible for their introduction into the culture blames everyone else except themselves for their devastating results. There can be no consensus on what is right and correct until we agree on a common morality based in respect for the Law and our Law giver, respect for the sanctity of human Life from the Creator of Life, respect for our personal Freedoms and Liberty from the Author of our inalienable rights who is Supreme over our Land.

Of course secular humanist Socialist atheist Leftists reject all of that, and therein lies the moral breakdown we are struggling to understand as it manifests itself in our current debased culture. Our moral foundations have been sacrificed for situational expediency, and without a common moral foundation both recognizing and honoring where our standards of morality emanate...we are doomed to disrespect of the Law, the loss of morality and our current circumstances as a result .

Never claimed or believed you were.

The division message works better than the unity message. That's why both the parties use it so well to their advantage. They learned this a long time ago - give someone a person to fear and hate and he'll stick with you to the bitter end. That's how it works in the military in time of war, that's how it works in election season.

Giving people their due doesn't win you any support. The same things that occur on here - name calling, ridicule, tearing each other down - are the tools necessary to winning and that is what it is all about.

Yes, you are correct. Everything begins and ends with your morals. You have very eloquently surmised all anyone needs to know.

Getting tired, responding to multiple posts, and trying to keep all my thoughts in order. I'm wearing down.

They're all yours... I'm out.

You have made some very important contributions to the dialogue here. Take a break...the Left will still be crazy tomorrow and you can pick up right where you departed. (all except @mule_eer , he's one of the few level headed Leftists on here)

Again, my voting record speaks my itself....read and understand what I am writing......a belief system can stay in place, but positions may change based on environment.....

There are more moderates and Republicans voting against Trump the man, then there are opposite pickups for Trump from others.....Trump won because of low turnout and dislike for Clinton....

This isn’t 2016......
Missing from your position is the difference in DJTs performance with Hispanic & AA voters. With slight gains in those voting blocks DJT won in 2016. What do you have to lose by voting for me? These voters now have 4 years of policy to see what he has done for their communities. And the left has shown no inclination to protect our citizens in their communities. If ATL and Candace Owens and Herschel Walker are correct, DJT will add to his AA voter base in 2020. Women are not going to like the slide in safety in Dem run cities. This is going to be hammered into DJT’s campaign and it will take him across the finish line. Peaceful protests do not burn down our country and think average Americans won’t feel the threat to their families.

RBG was a very important iconic leader for the left. Ask yourself this, who do the Dems have on deck to in any phase of Government to step up in her absence? AOC, Beto, Cuomo? Kamala? She couldn’t even hold position among the Democratic base.

Giving people someone to hate in war is understandable. Doing the same to gain political power seems wrong to me. That's not how you move a country forward together. If your opponent is the devil, you can't work with him.

I have a neighbor, hell of a great guy, and he has recently tried to steer conversations to politics. That's fine, and I let him say his piece. I don't argue with him because I don't see the value in it. It doesn't change my opinion of him even though I don't agree with him. He's still the guy who came across the street with his snowblower the morning after I moved in and was shoveling 320' of driveway. I still drop what I'm doing when he needs a hand, and he does the same for me.

I still can't believe they got away with murdering Scalia....

This is a great point that I dont see why everyone doesnt see. My next door neighbor is probably the only home in Wv with a Biden sign in his yard. I dont discuss politics with him. We do help each other all the time though. I wouldnt have it any ither way.
