I live and grew up between Charleston and Huntington. I never thought I'd see anything like what crack did to Charleston in the late 80's and early 90's. Every time I came home to visit there was some type of shoot out over that way. That was bad, what's happening in Huntington is worse.
Huntington sits on the direct route for heroin heading to the cities of the N.E. from S. Texas w/ the fewest stop and sniffs on the way. It's literally dead in the middle and a prime stop to exchange money for product. Take a regional population that already has a problem w/ synthetic opiates and add access to cheap, near pure heroin to the mix, and it's created a bomb that blew the once quiet town of Huntington through the roof.
It's nothing to make fun of.
