The blizzard kept four-star LB Brendan Ferns from making his planned official visit to Penn State this past weekend (would have been stuck on the same stretch of road the Duquesne men's basketball team was famously stuck on for 24+ hours this weekend). That presents a quandary for Ferns, because he really did want to see both schools before making a decision.
Exchanging a few messages with his father this morning, sounds like all options are on the table but there are no easy solutions. He just had to miss a week of school for the Army Bowl and this is a kid in contention for valedictorian honors in his class. A mid-week visit is not appealing, then, though not necessarily out of the question. Could he switch his visit this weekend from WVU to Penn State? Again, sounds like all options are on the table. I am not predicting that is what he does, but I would assume that is something they have to consider.
