What does the staff and board here think is realistic for this WVU football program from a recruiting perspective? While Neal and company seem to be their own biggest cheerleaders when it comes to their recruiting classes, his composite recruiting rankings are actually lower than his predecessor’s. Currently WVU is 50th in the 2024 team recruiting rankings and 46th in the other big service’s rankings.
Funny, because that is pretty close to where Neal’s average team ranking has been.
So are we happy/content bringing in classes that rank 40-50th? With the current NIL landscape is that what we should expect or can/should we expect better? People have asked what beyond winning more games on the field, Neal needs to do to gain more support, and my sense is that if he could bring in back to back top 25 classes, that might help, but again, is it even realistic to hope for that?
