This summer, West Virginia University’s Personal Rapid Transit system will continue to modernize through a variety of system upgrades and maintenance activities such as the installation of the new train control infrastructure and the replacement of select electrical gear. To accomplish this, PRT operations will be shut down beginning May 10 and resume normal operations Monday, Aug. 10.
During this period, the University will offer the Mountaineer Station shuttle service starting the week of May 18. The shuttle service will operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Stops include Mountaineer Station, Towers and the Coliseum. This is a free service for WVU students.
In addition, the Mountain Line “Blue and Gold Connector” route will be operating Monday through Friday from 6:40 a.m. to 6:20 p.m. with limited service on Saturdays and Sundays. This route will include the Towers PRT station, Towers, Oakland, Law School, Grant Avenue, Life Sciences, Beechurst, Creative Arts Center, Engineering PRT station, Evansdale Library and Allen Hall. WVU students and employees may ride the Mountain Line bus for free with a valid WVU ID.
