He is entering the summer as a QB................. because he will be redshirting, and the coaches want to see how he picks up the system off the bat........... before he moves positions.

I agree with Keaton. Let's give him a look at QB before deciding on his future position. Will he be a great QB for WVU? Who knows. He did play very well in High School so at least take a look at what he brings to the table at the QB position. If he is not an answer there I'm sure we can find a place for him somewhere else. Howard will be the starter next season but having Chugs, Crest, Sills, Saunders and Pratt to choose from after Howard will give WVU plenty of options moving forward after Howard. One of those guys will be the answer and QB of the future.
He's William Crest. His senior year was hampered by a shoulder injury, so his throws were mostly screens and quick slants. He did make some nice throws through the playoffs once he got healthy.
Look, really, I not trying to be a jerk, but I don't think Crest ever plays QB at WVU so what makes Pratt different?
You're not reading what I posted................. You asked if Pratt could see early PT next season on defense. I gave you the answer. I gave an explanation............... neither had to do with his future at QB, but rather an initial trial period at the position while he redshirts.
They said he'd get his shot at QB, and that is exactly what will happen in year 1. He will get his shot........ compete at QB ............. lose out to better QBs............ and then move on to another position AFTER a redshirt season.
The difference between Crest and Pratt is Pratt was told from day 1 that he would likely end up at another position.... but would "get his shot" at QB.
