A certain poster has expressed in multiple threads that 'true fans' should be posting today. Yes, I know it's a holiday weekend and it's not like we beat a ranked (or even P5) team....but he feels the way he feels...

So cleanse your soiled Mountaineer fandom and post in at least this thread or forever be judged a traitor.

If you choose to post in another thread just remember that there is no areas of improvement worthy of discussion regarding our team. We won..so obviously we're good to go..


....until we lose and then everyone can to be surprised because our team had weak spots....you know unnoticed flaws.

My prediction was a 30-20 win. Would've been good enough for me.

Instead we won by 44. Pleasant surprise indeed. Everyone should be satisfied.

I was actually playing 'fantasy coach' during the game and evaluating our play after. I really whined about going for it on fourth down instead of attempting the FG. I must be fairly well qualified....because in hindsight DH did too.

Yeah but Holgs was playing fantasy coach too, after the fact. That's my point. Any play that doesn't move the chains or score is "questionable". It's pretty easy to call a game from the bar stool or recliner. Coach does call some head scratchers but I'm fine with that... if we win.

Yea...Winning is the final most important factor. Still, even with a victory you can see signs of what may cause losses in the future. As fans, we can discuss those yet only hope they're addressed.

.....but they're worthy of discussion even if we can't change anything.

Being pissed about repeated mistakes doesn't make a person less of a fan.....maybe just a fan you prefer not to watch a game with....

......just like I prefer not to watch games with people who think beating a GS is an awesome accomplishment (not that it wasn't a very nice win).

If you are letting someone else stipulate the parameters of what it means to be a true fan.....you prolly need to grow up a bit. If you cheer for the Mountaineers to win every game you are a fan. This message board has no affect on that. Even if you have some criticism of the team and the coach it doesn't make you less of a fan. Just a realistic one. God knows in past seasons there have been plenty of flaws to find.

Funny how you still couldn't manage to give credit to a solid performance. I don't think anyone here has tried to make Georgia Southern out to be a ranked (or even a P5 team) but some people around the college football world thought they might upset WVU so take that for what its worth. Obviously WVU exceeded your expectations or you wouldn't be forced to make a thread like this one.

All that BS and all you did manage to get right was "Holiday Weekend"

Ofcourse everyone here knows that's the reason certain people aren't showing up and blasting the team or the coaching staff.

A few quick points.

--You type all I got right was, 'holiday weekend' and then you go on to misspell one of those two words. Not a big deal....just odd.

--You also wrote that I 'couldn't manage to give credit to (for) a solid performance', yet in this very thread I stated that it was 'a very nice win'.

--As you stated, WVU did exceed my expectations......however, if motivated, I can find posts I made where I wrote not only did I believe we would win but also that WVU would cover the spread EASILY. While you were concerned with a few talking heads doubting our team I was supporting them.
