If NFl truly cared about player safety, why havent they changed the down rule. "Player is only down when touched by opponent or whistle". Do you know how many players & times players are hit late on the ground due to this rule.... It should be the same as college. If a players knee, elbow, hip, butt, leg, forearm, etc touches the ground, the player is down. This would dramatically reduce bodily damage for both O & D players.
