We play who we play. Just like you play Liberty and Ga Southern. If we'd lost to them you'd have something to say about that. Our recruiting is dong fine. Class will round out nicely. Perhaps you should switch to a conference that you can compete in and not complain about "tough" games when you don't win.

Poor Vernon, truth hurts huh? Remember a couple of weeks ago you were insinuating the wvu was more relevant in Pittsburgh because you guys were getting your big game with GSU, Liberty, et al on Root? How's that working for you?

I know you guys aren't very smart but this isn't a board meant for trash talking. If you want to insult WVU or their fans then do so on another board, not here. I let fans of other schools come here as long as it doesn't get out of hand but when you go too far then you get booted.
You're right Vern, I'm not that smart to realize that so I'll refrain my insults to you on this board. Honestly, I miss our witty banter back and forth as you are a witty and handsome guy. Will you someday join me on the smack board to put my admittedly low intelligence down in it's rightful place?
I can't disagree with anything you said there. No time for the smack board. My days are filled with talk about teams I couldn't care less about like Iowa State or Baylor.
WVU's schedule layout is the exact opposite of Pitt and they could win the majority of their games from here on out because they'll face the lower half of the conference. If Pitt or WVU want to do something worthwhile they need to beat the better teams in the conference and not the clown programs.
Of course there is a double standard, it's the WVU board and not the WVU/Pitt board! I'll never understand why that is so confusing to fans. My boy Peak probably has the right idea by removing all WVU fans but I don't mind you guys coming over but you have to put up with watching your team get insulted. That's part of the online game. The truth is both teams have had serious problems over the last several years and I'm not really sure either side should be taking shots at the other.
I get ya Vern, and agree completely with your last sentence. Honestly, I wish Pitt and wvu could play every year as I miss then fun of our fun and friendly back and forth of the rivalry. Hell, I used to be pretty cool with a number of your posters years ago, but indeed it's your board so enjoy the back end of the B12.
There was less than 30,000 fans at the game today. I thought for sure the traveling Pitt fans were going to help fill up the Carrier Dome. LOL.
no ill will towards wvu but most pitt fans (myself included) are much more excited to play psu rather than wvu. It's our traditional and in-state rival, much like Marshall is for you guys. I think Holgy is your man, just need to stick with him. Just like some wanted Huggy Bear's head 2-3 years ago, the guy got you to a Sweet 16 last year. Attendance has suffers in lots of stadiums across the nation. Most of Pitts issues are due to the product on the field being a bit unsavory over the past three decades. Hopefully winning will affect the numbers positively. I would rather have 40000 and wins then sellout and be mediocre. Hopefully we do get the brawl back in addition to PSU.
I'd rather have a win in front of no fans then a loss in front of a sold out stadium. Maybe you can go to the "Attendance" bowl.
I thought your in-state rival was Temple. It is some what laughable to think that someone you haven't played for 15 years is your rival (PSU fans don't). The upcoming 4 game series got arranged by two out going A.D.s. who were friends. And just like the flagship school of Pennsylvania has no desire to continue the series with Pitt, WVU doesn't really want to play Marshall. Pitt and Marshall have a future series scheduled just like WVU and PSU have a future series. I think that is O.K.
To be honest I don't really care to continue either series, Pitt or Marshall. I'm looking forward to getting VT back on the schedule. I'd like to continue with Maryland on the schedule and see if we could occasionally add Kentucky.
Those are "rivalry" games I'd like to see. Creating a new one with UK would be fine with me.

40,000 is really being generous. Part of Pitt's problem is the ACC Costal Division schedule. All of Pitt 's conference opponents so far have had losing records. You might think that beating them is a major accomplishment, but most fans want a better schedule.
