We once again come to the end of another football season and an end of an era of Mountaineer football. The Neal Brown era is done and we'll move on to the next one with a new coach TBD.

Fortunately, the regular season ended with a bang as there were some exciting games over the weekend. Oregon proved to be worthy of their #1 standing, and anyone who beats tOSU and PSU is ok in my book. They'll be my fav in the CFP. SMU also proved they belong even though they were inched out in a comeback with Clemson. UGA is back again in the top spot of the SEC (YAWN!), and Boise State is knocking on the door. In our neck of the woods, ASU goes from PAC12 near demise to Big XII Champs!

For our MMB Pick'M we have @WESTBGVA with the tie-breaker win for the week over @Chris from WV , both with 6 correct picks for the week. Congrats chaps! For the year, with 211 wins and 65.33% correct picks is @FallingRun84 . He beat me out by 1 pick and .31%! Well done and congrats! I blame Texas for not showing up in the second half.

Also, our guest pickers returning after a hiatus are @3xWVUenginEER with 4 correct picks this week and @MichiganHerd with 5 correct picks this week. Welcome back gents! Hope you'll continue to come back and play.

All that is left is the Bowl Challenges and the CFP associated with them. Not sure exactly how we will do this, but I'm sure FallingRun will figure it out. It's almost like picking bowl games with a NCAA Bracket inside it. IDK! Here's the rest of the numbers:

PLAYER NAME CORRECT WEEK CCG CORRECTYTD YTD/WIN %
FALLRUN 5 211 65.33%
EXPAT 4 210 65.02%
CHRISWV 6 203 62.85%
WVCOOLER 5 207 64.09%
WESTBGVA 6 206 63.78%

Just for some context; through the 15 weeks of Pick'M there were 323 total picks to be made. 207 correct picks was the average for all players, 211 the high and 203 the low, so this game has always been a very tight competition.
My records show @WV Cooler winning 6 weeks, @WVex-pat in GA with 4, @FallingRun84 and @WESTBGVA with 2 and @Chris from WV with 1 weekly win.

FallingRun is also a repeat winner from 2023, much lower percentage correct this year, but it's a scorecard, not a postcard! 2019 was the last time someone not named FallingRun84 or @MichiganHerd won the Pick'M. I haven't won the year since 2017 :frown:. The first year I started keeping the records was 2016 and @3xWVUenginEER won that year as he did the year before in 2015, which I believe was the first year of Pick'M., so this was our 10th year playing this game.

The highest number of players ever was in 2018 with 19 players participating at one time or another; this year's 5 players was the lowest. I am hopeful that a change at the top of the WVU FB program will revitalize both.

If anybody has any questions about the stats, leave a post here and I'll try to see if I have an answer in the records.

Thank you for keeping all of the calculations, WVex-pat in GA.

If this were the 'ole Big East, I would be in the position to consistently flap my arms like a Temple Owl - last place for this season. ☹️

As a Temple Owl this pick 'em season, at least we have proud Temple alum Bill Cosby, a city of brotherly love and pleasantries that makes everyone feel welcome, a premier playing surface teams love to play on at the Vet, and plenty of fans in the stands to watch our games. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

However, if I work really hard this offseason, maybe I'll progress into the next to last position of the 2025 pick 'em game, otherwise known as the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
