Don't forget "The Great Charleston Plot" to keep Huntington down, Couch. That's an oldie but a goodie. The WVU obsession became intertwined with "The Plot" in the early '70's. No one east of Barboursville can figure out what the Hell they're going on about?

Inferiority complexes run deep in the Huntington psyche.

Was probably a nice place before they built the college down there. Morgantown keeps getting better and better, and is consistently ranked as one of the better small cities in the country. The more soda pop Huntington drinks, the more prestigious our Med School becomes.

Huntington's economy went in the crapper in roughly 1980. It's never recovered. What small chance it did have was stillborn when the city of Huntington decided it didn't need a mall in city limits. The mall went to Ona, and it, and Barboursville have thrived since.

It's too bad, however the city fathers, (and a certain governor who didn't want I-64 going through his favorite golf course back in the early 60's.), brought the current situation upon themselves due to decades of mismanagement.
