Pat Forde breaks down the East Region.

"SFA is on a 20-game winning streak, with the last nine victories by 21 points, and has a No. 33 Pomeroy rating – 72 spots higher than the next No. 14 seed."

I knew SFA is underranked, but that's bordering on absurd. I think WVU takes over in the 2nd half, but this team earned an easier 1st round game than this.

They lost every game they played against respectable-level competition, including 2 games against sub-500 Arizona State and Tulane (at home)

They lost to a team we swept in our league.............. by 40+

Yes, they swept their conference.......... The Southland Conference......... ranked 29/32 in conference RPI

That entire conference registered not a SINGLE victory over a top 100 RPI opponent this season, outside of SFA beating UT-CC 3 times within the conference games.

less that 40% of that league had a .500 or better record..............

It's going to be a close game......... probably too close for comfort............ but as soon as we get into their depth, it's over. Assuming half our roster doesn't get the flu.

Your stats predict a mismatch, but your last paragraph suggests you agree with me.

Is the Pomeroy rating is bogus? How do you think SFA compares to the other 14 seeds?

In 2010, WVU faced off against a 27-9 Morgan State team, who went 15-1 in their conference....that team lost to a top 20 Louisville by 9....

We beat them by 25 I believe....

pat forde is swamp scum, never post his garbage again i don't care if he has us winning it all.

DramaBoy...............is that an order? You need to make your demand clear! How well do you know Pat Forde and what has he done to you? You shoot marbles or play pick up sticks with him? My claim to fame is that I once saw Bobby Knight with Fifty Cent on a New Orleans street during Mardi Gras. I always wondered.............did they see me?

The only issue I see it's that SFA is a deep team. I think they play 9 or 10 guys.

This is no 3-14 meeting. It's No. 8 vs No. 30, according to the AP poll.

SFA is regarded by the AP and Coaches Poll ahead of more teams than I can count who are seeded higher than them in the NCAA field. It's a terribly wrong-seeded game, especially for a 1st RD meeting. Don't think it's not by design.

We're in the toughest region with the toughest 1st RD match-up possible, esp among 3-14s. We should've been the 2 seed in OU's spot in the West region considering numbers, facts and Friday's head to head win. It's really no surprise though. Inversely if I'm SFA, I feel slighted to be a 14 having to take down WVU.

That said, WV will cruise behind dominating inside presence. SFA bigs cannot deal with Devin and Co. Keep in mind: 31 points vs No. 1 overall Kansas. What does SFA have to remotely match that & from just a couple days ago? How would they fare vs Hield, OU and a day later vs 1 Kansas in Kansas City?

Let's not take 'em for granted, but not lose sight on the reality of the big picture.

But it was a close 1st half.....and I think that's what the poster was referring to that it won't be a blowout from the tip.
