Parking/Shuttle Info for Remainder of Baseball Season

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (April 23, 2015) – On the cusp of the third home weekend series at Monongalia County Ballpark, the West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced parking and shuttle information for the remainder of the 2015 home season.

A limited amount of free parking will be available along the roadway directly outside the ballpark. Fans can access this parking by continuing past Wal-Mart and entering the ballpark site at the construction gate entrance. WVU parking staff will be present to direct fans on where to park.

Free parking also will remain available for fans at many of the University Town Centre businesses closest to the ballpark including Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Target, Ashley Furniture Home Store, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Giant Eagle.

All parking at these participating locations is available along the perimeter of the individual lots. WVU baseball fans are asked to be respectful of the customers at each of the retail locations identified and not park in the interior sections of the lots reserved for customers.

At Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, the exterior spots for fans are striped with white paint, while the interior parking spaced for customers are striped with yellow paint. At Giant Eagle, available spots are located at the perimeter of its lot closest to GetGo.

There will not be a shuttle for fans from the Natatorium lot near the WVU Coliseum.

ADA Accessible Parking

Limited ADA accessible parking on a first-come basis will be available for free at Monongalia County Ballpark in the lot closest to Gate A, which is located behind the left-center field wall. An ADA parking permit holder will be required to park in the spots reserved for ADA parking only. Fans who wish to access this ADA parking must present the following information to the WVU parking staff at the new ballpark:

  1. Valid state-issued disabled parking placard or license plate
  2. Valid state-issued disabled parking registration card
  3. Photo ID of the disabled permit holder who is present in the automobile (the photo ID must match the disabled parking registration card and the disabled permit holder must be present in the vehicle)

Shuttles for WVU Students

Two shuttle buses will be available each game to WVU students and faculty/staff. Each shuttle will go from the Mountainlair to Towers under the canopy to the Coliseum Blue Gate to Monongalia County Ballpark. The first shuttle will leave one hour before first pitch and the second shuttle will leave 30 minutes before first pitch.

Non-WVU students and faculty/staff may ride these shuttles for a cost of 75 cents each way.

Each shuttle bus will make one trip to the ballpark and travel a route that follows University Ave. from the Mountainlair to Towers, proceeding out Evansdale Drive to the WVU Coliseum, then down Mon. Blvd and across the Star City Bridge to the new ballpark.

Return service will originate from the ballpark back to the original pickup points postgame.

Tickets remain available for the Kansas series and can be purchased online at WVUGAME.com. Fans are encouraged to select the print-at-home or mobile delivery options to avoid long lines on game day at the Monongalia County Ballpark ticket office.
