My brother and I are coming to Saturday's game. It starts at 7:00 and my friends say they have never paid for parking. I heard people park on the 4-lane and walk, but I do not know the name of the 4-lane. Is there a place to park where we can walk to a restaurant and then to the stadium? I am looking forward to it and bought my gold sweatshirt for the stadium striping.

The last time I parked at a Mountaineer game without paying.......................I got towed. The same thing happened to me at a recent Dallas Cowboys game. Heck, Jerry Jones wants $100 to park...............unless you wanna park about 10 miles away and ride his shuttle that comes with an hour or more wait.

Park west of Patteson Drive, walk to several restaurants, take your pick, then walk to the stadium. Arrive early. If you are in decent health and can walk a half mile with no problems, this is a good alternative. The four lane you are talking about is 705.

Another alternative is to park at the Coliseum (free) and walk up the hill to the Engineering PRT station and take it to the Towers PRT station and there are a few of those same restaurants within walking distance.

Agree with countryroads89...Patteson is usually my choice when the WVU lots are full...I park in front of Boston Beanery for 25 bucks, and it's a 10 -15 minute walk to the gates. It's a pretty good tailgate enviro in that lot. Good luck and enjoy the game!

You can park for free at the Coliseum and they have shuttle buses that run before and after the game to/from the Blue Lot. $4 round trip.

What is the costs for some of the parking areas as we will get there around 4:00, because we are eating dinner in Morgantown.

So even restaurants will rent out spaces for parking?

The Coliseum shuttle ($4 roundtrip, free parking) is a good deal, but be aware that you may not get back to your car for 90 minutes or so following the game. We stayed to sing Country Roads after the Maryland win. That put us near the end of a long line to the shuttle buses, which get slowed by heavy post-game traffic.

I suspect we would have gotten back to our vehicle more quickly had we parked downtown and relied on the PRT, which is free on game days.

Isn't is just a 30 minute walk to the coliseum from the stadium? Much better than 90 minute wait.

Yes. You can also take the PRT (free). There is a little bit of a line there after the game as well. Before the game, not a problem. There are three PRT stations on the Evansdale Campus, Engineering (closest to Coliseum), Towers (closest to food) and Med Center (closest to stadium).
