Oklahoma is the only team left who has not won the tournament before, twice reaching the title game and falling short. We know a little bit about what that's like. Plus OU would join the very short list of schools who have won it all in football, basketball, and baseball.

Go Sooners!

Great call! Fanboys with conference pride to fall back on when own team goes down to high school team. Big12 hasn't earned national respect when it counts. Kansas winning Big12 every single year proves how overrated this league is.

I vote for a speedy return to the sanctity of the New Big East. Let's get a petition before the WV senators asap. I ain't joking. Give me Syracuse, Pitt, Nova, BC, etc and I will be happy in the valley....................again. I want Maryland in the new league too!

You keep calling us fanboys who root for conference members. Sounds like a bit of hypocrisy coming from a Dana fanboy, himself. A guy who is labeled as an offense genius, yet cannot recruit a quarterback. Last good quarterback came from the Bill Stewart staff.

Don't see that happening in the near future, but someday sanity will return to college athletics.

Oklahoma beats Villanova 78-55 in December. That's a 23-point margin.

Villanova beats Oklahoma by 44 in the worst Final Four beatdown in history.

That's a 67-point swing. It has to be the biggest turnaround in basketball history in the same season.

It doesn't make me feel better about WVU's performance against Stevie Austin, but at least the Mountaineers didn't have the worst pratfall in March Madness.

So WVU lost to the team that lost to Notre Dame the next game, and the Irish lost to North Carolina 2 games later, and the Tarheels may or may not beat Syracuse and play Villanova for the title.

I guess that makes my alma mater at least 32 steps removed from the title.

Wait till next season!

There's always football and our struggle to better 7-6.

It is not easy being a Mountaineer fan, but they are family, and my alma mater, so I will till the day I die.

Wvu has a perfect opportunity to have a break through season in football, The majority of the teams will be taking a step back and with a favorable home schedule their is an opportunity to win 9+ games and compete for a conference title

Dude you have me confused with someone else. Hogy is a drunken fool that is a joke football coach. He sucks and WVU will bumble around as long as that idiot is stumbling half drunk along the sidelines. If I said something positive about that embarrassment I changed my mind.

The opportunity is there for sure...but if they light it up he's gone based on the rather tenuous relationship that now exists between the HC and the AD...and if he shits the bed he's gone anyway and so be it...onwards and hopefully upwards...

Holgs ain't no coaching genius but he ain't what you call him either. I own a business and have tens of thousands of folks picking pickles for me (under TorontoEERs supervision) up in Michigan but Holgs still make$ more on an annual basis than ole Warez do. He ain't dumb and I don't know for sure about the drunk thing. Warez

Congrats man! Weird exchange but seems like all your dreams have come true cowboy.

last great qb came from doc Holliday. Much like several of our greats.

The man said the last good QB came from the Bill Stewart staff and since Doc Holliday was apart of that staff he is right in his statement

Regardless of what you want to say about Doc, who was pissed and badmouthed WVU till he was outed when he didn't get Nehlen's job, he was a great recruiter who set up WVU's Florida pipeline.

That doesn't change just because he's the Marshall coach. That's his burden, not ours.
