This Bryan Price thing really has me thinking about the media's role in today's sports. While I don't agree with his way of handling (although it was quite humorous) I completely understand where he's coming from. The opponent is looking for every advantage they can get and many times they get it from the home town teams reporters. As a fan I would rather my team have every advantage to win as opposed to me being more informed.
It helps me understand why Dana is so tight lipped when it comes to injuries or closing sessions to the media. It's because for the most part the media has no restraint. They have no sense of loyalty to the team they are covering. It's more important that they get credit for the scoop.
It really makes me appreciate Vernon and the others on this board. There are many times they withhold information because they know the ramifications if they release it or they will ask it to be kept here.
