My uncle had triple-bypass surgery last Thursday and is doing remarkably well, all things considered. He had a 95% blockage of the "widow maker" artery on his heart, an 85% blockage on a second artery and a 100% blockage on a third, which should have caused major problems (heart attack), but the doctors said his heart (somehow) developed a secondary pathway to deliver blood where that artery was...miraculously, the doctors said his heart suffered no damage.
I firmly believe that someone was looking out for him - they changed family doctors when they moved and they were meeting with their new family doctor from the Cleveland Clinic. A comment to her that his shoulder hurt after moving boxes (they moved from Wheeling to Ohio in the spring) resulted in a visit to the cardiologist and then a very quick diagnosis/surgery in the Cleveland Clinic.
He, like all of us, is a die-hard Mountaineer fan and lived in Morgantown for many years, but moved to be close to his grandson in Ohio.
He will now, Lord willing, have many more years with his family thanks to an "oh by the way" comment... Please keep him in your prayers for a problem-free recovery.
