The University of Pittsburgh is expected to hire Scott Barnes as its athletic director Friday, according to a report on ESPN.com.
The position has been open since Steve Pederson was fired in December.
Barnes, 51, is the AD at Utah State, and he served as chair of the NCAA men's basketball committee last season.
