Just watched a half hour ESPN+ film with the above title.

Depressing if you were fans of either.

Detailed how both guys didn’t win championships until late in their careers when Oscar teamed with Kareem to win one in Milwaukee and, of course, West teamed with Wilt to win one in LA……….the same year Elgin Baylor retired after only 8 games that season.
Both guys had been derailed down through the years by Russell and the Celtics…….
Talked about how close both teams had come to beating the Celts but could never quite pull it off. Russell always prevailed as long as he was playing.
Pat Riley talked about how miserable West always was because he always lost the big one.
He didn’t win until ex-Celtic player, Bill Sharman, took over as head coach of the Lakers. Didn’t mention but as I recall Schaus was the GM of that squad.
Also talked about how Oscar drove the Milwaukee team hard in his efforts to finally win one in Milwaukee.
It was a good, short story about both of their careers…………..albeit depressing as a fan who enjoyed both their careers.
