OT: Kieth Jackson passed away

I would add Ron Franklin in there as well.

Keith Jackson had the special gift because of radio of describing the game and the anticipation for the game.
He made people want to watch CFB.
Ron Franklin was the same way because of radio.

Verne's gift was that he connected with the auidence as he loved the game of football.
He is still a diehard Cowboys fan and is seen at the games a few times a year.

Luckily Jim Nantz is one of the younger generation that has that gift.
Even Nantz only has about 15 years left in the business.
After Nantz I doubt we will see anyone that has the gift on national TV.

Last game for Keith Jackson luckily was the GOAT

What made the SC/Texas game so special was that it was Keith Jackson's last game.

That puts that game above all.

Is there anyone here over thirty-five who didn't say, or at a least think, "Whoa Nelly!", when they heard the news? Keith could do it all when came to announcing.

Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles were the best college football announcing team in existence, hands down. They were the "Abbott and Costello" of the South performing every fall Saturday on ABC. RIP Keith.
