Found out late last night that one of the kids on the first hockey team I coached down here 4 years ago was killed in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday afternoon. 19 years old. Spent all morning contacting the players and families from that team... Especially hard since this year, I had a kid on my team (who was also on that team 4 years ago) almost kill himself in a one-car accident just before Thanksgiving (and KonstantinEER was very fortunate that there was grass and sand in the median and he was going slow when he laid his bike down on a bad stretch of road last fall or he wouldn't be here right now...).
Most of that team is going to be at the funeral on Sunday... You coach those kids for so long they are like your own...dammit dammit dammit...
