Please.... keep it up...and lose the series...

....Sid and the whole team definitely deserve some praise tonight, in showing restraint and capitalizing at the right time! Big shout out to the D as well...lots of blocks , sticks in lanes and solid transition....

I'm not sure the Pens showed restraint....they made several idiotic penalties.

..but yea... ...overall good game.

Plus, they technically have home ice advantage now.

And more biased officiating. What, the Rangers had like 7 power plays tonight and Pens only had like 3?

For the series

Rangers with 12 power plays

Penguins with 4 power plays.

Seems legit....................

bEER...To complain at this juncture is foolish...we have them where we want them...within their heads. I stiil dont see the conspiracy...they took their penalties at inopportune junctures in the game (later when they badly needed to get back in)....I am wrong? If so please explain...

They showed restraint when it mattered should have been my point...and yes they do...hopefully something is done with that home ice advantage ....you're really getting into this hockey in the slow season aren't you LowFatMilk!?!

....it is nice to see...

I am not saying Penguins don't commit penalities because they do. But they aren't the only team who does. It happens every game. Just like it does in football, every team holds, moves early, pass interference, etc. Just like basketball, every team fouls. But to be very liberal on 1 team and very conservative on another team is inconsistency. That's my beef

Any time the Penguins commit a penalty, regardless how minor, it's called.

But for the Rangers? It has to be something very obvious or something really bad to be called. Officials are very conservative when calling penalties against them.

That's like an umpire in baseball giving 1 team a larger strike zone than other team. Gotta keep it consistent. Cannot nitpick 1 team and allow other team to do whatever they want.

12 power plays to 4 is too big of a difference, that's more than doubling up the opposition

I can see 12 power plays to 6 or 7 and that's fine. It doesn't have to be even, it shouldn't be even. But 12 to 4? That's a monumental difference.

That one I definitely noiced OM1...And as for the 12-4 ratio I still say this reflects their pressure and our injuries...I wont suck up to the refs screwed us defence..... it's weak.... good teams find a way to overcome this when chips are down...as the Pens did tonight.

If it wasn't the playoffs, I would love to see Downie give him the Erik Karrlson treatment to the calf. Even though, Erik Karlsson did not deserve that dirty play by Matt Cooke as Erik is a classy player and individual. But Hagelin? That was dirty as they come, blind side a man who was not even looking and did not even have the puck. That's just cheap. Love to see someone like Downie take him out but it's the playoffs and the way the officials are calling penalties vs the Penguins, it would be a terrible mistake.

I strongly believe in dirty players deserve payback and Hagelin is a dirty player. Too bad, it's the playoffs and the officials are calling every little thing vs the Penguins. Just beat them and then get payback early next season.

If the NHL isn't going to do a damn thing (and they won't, that guy for Philly only got like 8 games for that hit on Letang), then you have to take matters in your own hands. Unfortunately, it's the worst possible time of the year to do that. It's such a shame that the NHL won't do anything to protect players like Crosby, Seguin, Kane, etc.

8 games is an eternity in the NHL by the way they meet out discipline ...you would admit that I think? Would I agree with 8 more on top of that? Yes. But he got 'the going rate'...we are in their heads...let's hope the Rangers keep their antics up...on home ice we will get the call more often than not imo....

Last night's second may have been the[/B] best single period the Penguins have played in all of calendar 2015.Clearly, the officials are going way [/B]out of their way to call stick fouls on the Penguins. Not sure if the Pens have a reputation for taking liberties with their sticks or what, but the stripes aren't letting anything[/B] go if it even remotely includes a stick. And I'm not necessarily saying that all have been bad calls; but the Comeau call confirmed to me they're unquestionably on the lookout. Most have rightly viewed Flower's 2014/15 to have been the best season of this career; to me, his biggest improvement has been his reduction in bad[/B] goals against. Not sure any long-time #1 guy in the League has surrendered more GA after pucks bounced off his back.....after misplayed clearing attempts.....or pucks which squeezed through him after a save. We haven't seen that anywhere near as much this season; but he's been having trouble with big[/B] rebounds so far in the series (like on the first NYR goal in Game 1, which I honestly believe was as much Martin's fault).. Not sure why that is; though he may be focusing solely on the initial save rather what what happens after the puck hits him. Of course, I've never played goal, so what do I know.Obviously great to see Kunitz finally back playing the game again after, what, 5 months ?? Let's hope getting back with Sid proves to have been the key to get him unlocked. I'm also amazed at the quality of play they're getting from Taylor Chorney. The kid can skate......he drew that bad penalty call last night......and he doesn't seem thus far to be intimidated by the playoffs. And, his own penalties aside, Ian Cole is as much an unsung hero (after 2 games) as anyone on the roster. I've read there's a chance that both Ehrhoff and Pouliot might return for Game 3; that would obviously give them not one but two D-men who can actually carry the puck; and perhaps just as importantly, get Paul Martin off the top PP unit (where he honestly doesn't belong). I'd be worried about rustiness in (especially) Ehrhoff's game; but if he's medically cleared I guess he has to play. I do feel bad that, if both returned, Chorney would probably get sat rather than Scuderi. But while Scuds can't move anymore, I feel like he's generally been pretty good in his own end thus far in the series. Finally, don't think for a micro-second that the Pens somehow have grabbed the series by the ass just because they've taken home ice away. The Rangers have frequently proven they can beat the Pens in Pittsburgh over the past two years; meaning if they expect to actually win this series, they're going to have to bring it every game like they did last night (and keep Flower playing well). Oh, and they need to keep the sticks down.......

Agree completely re: the reduction in bad goals against Fleury. His head seems to be in the game ALL game long, no out of cage wandering, and few weak goals this year...If they're going to pull off an upset I see him having a HUGE part in it...

I'm looking forward to this Canadiens-Sens game tonight; probably more animosity brewing in this series than all the other series' combined. That always makes for a fun matchup; and I hope I don't fall asleep too early to catch at least the first part of the Ducks-Jets later.
