Jurgen Klinsmann fired, now USA retreads with Bruce Arena.

I was hoping they would hire Miguel Herrera, former Mexico coach until he was fired for punching a TV reporter. Oh what fun it would be to see them beat Mexico with their former coach.

I was a huge fan of Kilinsmann, but in the end the UMNT program seemed to regress. I think the changes he made at the youth level were good and will eventually pay dividends. I'm torn on whether Bruce is the right hire. However, he knows how to get a team in the World Cup and that is the most critical thing at this point in World Cup qualifying cycle. Qualifying for the World Cup also helps with impressing during the bidding for the 2026 World Cup.

At the end of the day...who knows.

All I ask is no more Chris Wondolowski, every time I see his name, I cringe. He's awful. I'm also getting to the point of wanting Michael Bradley benched. Seems to be sucking a lot as of late. I'm all for the youth movement.

I think Bruce Arena was playing it safe. I was hoping for a sexier hire. But qualifying for the WC is the main goal at the moment, already starting in a hole. Get a few months to regroup. Should still qualify but who knows with this team. Oh, what a fail and disaster that would be to miss Russia.
