OSU AD says what I have been hoping for.

These ideas were started back in the 1970's when the CFA was formed to negotiate TV contracts and try to create their own rules, own governance structure, have their own enforcement and their own requirements. The CFA folded and no longer exist. Ohio State AD is correct in one thing. A separation will occur but it will not be 10 conferences. More like 24 to 32 schools.

Says the child Root who stalks. My comment had nothing to do with insider info. It's history go find it.

Gotta love the "insiders" who KNOW "it will just be 32 schools yada yada yada".

The only people that know who/what such a move will be are the people trying to make it happen. Without a MAJORITY, which 32 schools would be, enacting such changes won't be possible.

Also, the support for college football would drop off the map if you eliminate multiple large state schools from the ability to compete except at some lower level.

Another consideration is that, if only the "top" 32 or so chosen schools played, most of them are going to become LOSING programs because they will only play one another. Their supporters would not accept that.

Let us all know what you think when the shit hits the fan in about 10 years. Until then STFU.

I agree that football needs to separate itself from the ncaa, especially at the highest level.

College football has been operating on its own anyway.

And we can have football-only conferences and then another conference for olympic sports.
