I was in a state of shock when seeing RR as a possible coach at WVU. Many were and are! The reality now has sunk in. I've embraced Vernon's view in that I will one hundred percent support WVU's coach! Nothing new here but I thought I'd relate something that has helped my perspective.
I live in SEC country and WVU as a program is still respected as a football school. I've been needled too: "Has WVU dropped football?" "What has happened to your FB program?", I once discussed with my Virginia Tech friend who spoke of the long history of WVU's national respect that VT doesn't enjoy.
This morning a young man made a delivery to the house and asked if I was a WVU fan. My wife said "you have no idea" the young man said that as a kid his room was full of WVU paraphernalia along with a Pat White jersey. He is a born and raised Georgian. He has no knowledge of the divorce between the school and RR nor would he care! Few outside our WVU family except a few Pitt fans would. But after the slurs I think some eyebrows are being raised in Pittsburgh.. It's time to stop the family feud and lengthen our perspective.
