Open Letter from Kevin Noreen

I think that's a wonderfully heartfelt letter, too.....regardless of his Marshall comment.

I remember asking Huggs, if he thought I could play here. He said, "I don't know. That's on you. But the opportunity is there if you work for it."

KN, welcome to the Mountaineer Family. No one brought more pride to the Family than did you. You were not always the best player on the floor, but no one gave more of themselves than did you. You always gave us and Huggs 100% in true Mountaineer spirit.

Thank you and best of luck going forward. Indeed, you have made the investment necessary to become a real Mountaineer Man.

On every Mountaineer team, there's alway one player I especially

want to see succeed, and I revel in their every success. Joe Mazzula was one, Kevin Noreen was one, and Brandon Watkins is the current one.

I always thought he had one more year here?

I guess if his first year was 2010 then that explains his zero time left. I though people here were saying he had one year left if he wanted to use it. Too bad. He was a serviceable part and a necessary workhorse, and probably a better shooter if he wanted to be, or was pushed to do so within the offense but it wasn't his main job and he got criticized for it. Thanks Kevin.

Re: I always thought he had one more year here?

"About West Virginia University WVU is one of about a
dozen schools in the country that are land-grant, doctoral research
universities with a comprehensive medical school. Many of the
University's 184 degree programs have placement rates at or near 100
percent. WVU has a proud tradition of student excellence. We have
produced 24 Rhodes Scholars, 22 Truman Scholars, 35 Goldwater Scholars,
and 31 Fulbright Scholars. In 2012 alone, WVU has announced five
Fulbright Scholars. WVU has been ranked as one of the Top 20 Best Places
to Work in Academia by The Scientist, and Forbes ranked WVU as number
30 in their top 100 list of best buy colleges. Over 180,000 alumni
located in 60 nations around the world include leaders in business,
technology, medicine, the arts, law, and education."

Papillion, I love this in your signature. do you mind if I use this? I assume the idea is to put a dent in the totally incorrect perception that is WVU academics and, if so, the more of us who use this the better. I don't want to take it without your permission, however.

So,an athlete that played for the WVU basketball team consindered Marshall a rival? I know the fans do not consider MU a rival but a WVU basketball player did? How cute. He actually played in the games between those two schools. He would definitely be one to understand the competition between the universities unlike the typical message board poster.
So I think I would actually take his word.

Sure. I just can't remember if I got it from an official WVU site or some other article that I probably saw on here. Be my guest.
