Nice try, Tireprick, but your envy runs deep.

Marshall IPF > the EAR IPF

Better in all aspects, and of course, ours wasn't made to be an 80 yard field. By chance, did tarheels, the bloviating engineer work on that field?

CUSA should now be known as '3482'...

because that's the range in subsidy for CUSA schools... 34% to 82%

ours is 10 yards short due to the geography it was built on.....30 some years ago when IPF's were rare and expensive....what is your dumbasses excuse?

Nice to know I am under your skin little bitch.

100 yards long and 20 feet wide. Appropriate for the sons of pencildick U.
WVU IPF: Dedicated in August, 1998, and named in honor of former Gov. Gaston Caperton, the versatile modern indoor workout space is equipped with a 90-yard FieldTurf playing surface with seven yards of safety zone surrounding the entire field. Total length from wall to wall is 105 yards, with more than 75,000 square feet of practice room.

HERD IPF: massive structure of nearly 102,000 square feet and a 120-yard football practice field got a new title Saturday - the Chris Cline Athletic Complex, named for the most generous benefactor to that aforementioned Vision Campaign that has secured more than $20 million in private funding.

$20 million in private funding

CC put in $8.5M...
Bucks for Brains matched $5M from CC... http://www.marshall.edu/murc/b4b/

the rest from West Virginia taxpayers... as usual

"The project will be funded by bonds and private gifts, and is part of a larger bond issue that includes academic facilities on the campus."

lol... one article said it would be paid for with ticket sales...

I've never seen so many different project $ amounts listed for a project, everything from $12M to $36M.

lol........

here's the mooooooo's latest financial report... APR2016

http://www.marshall.edu/2020/files/...tics-at-Marshall-University_April-13-2016.pdf

Institutional Support
$11.8M (43%) = "paid for by the West Virginia taxpayers"

$15.6M (57%) = 3482 Average..lol

4th best/lowest = here is the moooo saying "wooooooooo we're fourth in getting the least SUBSIDY" in 3482..I mean CUSA

lol... "Institutional Support" ...the new phrase for "paid for by West Virginia taxpayers"

... 3482... I mean CUSA...

At least Fattington can host the WV Special Olympics when this house of cards finally collapses...

Practice is not just a fair-weather proposition, thanks to the Caperton Indoor Facility, located adjacent to the Puskar Center and Mountaineer Field.

Dedicated in August, 1998, and named in honor of former Gov. Gaston Caperton, the versatile modern indoor workout space is equipped with a 90-yard FieldTurf playing surface with seven yards of safety zone surrounding the entire field. Total length from wall to wall is 105 yards, with more than 75,000 square feet of practice room. Skylights provide natural lighting and just out back is easy access to WVU's 170-yard grass practice field.

Former Mountaineer football coach Don Nehlen worked long and hard to make the $9 million facility a reality. Final approval of the facility came in June of 1997 and construction began a few weeks later.

Still a great building...20 years later.

This thread is comical. I have been to hundreds of practices and i have never seen anyone use all 120 yards. If pencildick ipf makes you happy I guess it was tax dollars well spent.

The field is 53.33 yards wide, twiggy. I mean, you can go down and measure it if you like. I realize it upsets your tiny frame to see that the Herd has a better IPF than you, but as they say at the ole water cooler, shit happens.

And of course, you've never seen anyone use all 120 yards. The only time you've been on a football field was to perform with the marching band during the halftime show.

Deal with it.

Last time I checked, football fields, even practice fields, were rectangular...Marshall's not so much.

Best of luck working on those Red Zone packages.

Hahahahahahahaha...this may be the Gold Standard of inane jousting! Our Practice facility is nicer/bigger /better/geometrical plaeasing than yours! Hahahahahahahahhahah

Tony, I honestly don't give a crap about comparing practice facilities but please tell me you don't look at this Marshall creation and cringe? C'mon, it appears that they built a facility dedicated for track and squeezed as much of a football field as they could = fail.

Sorry, it's a half-ass football field, and very dangerous to boot with very little room on the sidelines and really no real end-zones.

It's half-assed and idiotic engineering...and a complete waste of money.

How in the hell did Marshla convince the state to pay for a hockey rink shaped practice field? You guys are great salesmen....or you are idiots for not convincing the state to make IPF 10 feet wider and 10 yards longer.

The photo evidence clearly defines you as a genuine moron. As you can see, there's a track that runs around the Herd field, whereas, with the antique up in 'the hole', you can clearly see a concrete block wall merely 3-4 feet from the sidelines. Those quick sideline passes must be a bitch. Arena football without the pads on the walls. LMAO @ you backward inbreds.

I think it's fine and serves it purpose well....I suspect we only ( both of us) only use those practice facilities a handful of times during the season anyway, the fall weather in WV is beautiful IMHO and rarely brutal enough to cancel or move a practice indoors. But let me throw this idea out.....instead of measuring end zones of our practice facilities , let's turn the scoreboard on and just play a football game and see who comes out on top!

We have 12 times and the 13th time will end the same as the other 12. Given that we are generally playing two good OC games a year from here on out, we could use a guaranteed home win. I don't think Lyons would mind if that was Marshall.

I'm sorry you Earbillies were born with small brains, as well as an envy that runs deep when it pertains to the 'New Flagship'.

Marshall is the team that carries the load in the state of WV. Lofty rankings, bowl wins, places fear in the opponents, etc. You guys just continue to do your thing, aka as being the Big 12's bottom dweller, homecoming fodder, if you will.

Not a lot of room for band carts in Marshall's IPF end zone.

Hope the herd players are prepared for game day.
