....we have a ways to go with our basketball program to be a legit NC contender. It is one thing to chant it game to game in the huddle, but another thing to be at that level. I like what we accomplished this past year, but Wisconsin and Duke are way ahead of us on the offensive end particularly, but also on half court Defense. Run productive sets consistently, free throws are made when they need to be made, layups are made (in most cases) just overall solid well-coached teams. (I hate Duke as much as many of you) I enjoyed watching both the UK-Wisconsin game and the Final...both great games.
We have some nice pieces (Ahmad, Bolden and Meyers) coming in and the guys coming back are just going to get better and better. I think Williams, Miles, Philips and Carter have lots of upside as does Adrian and Watkins. If we can make the strides this coming year that we made this past year, we might slip into that final four discussion. Anything less, and we will still be sweet 16 material and not much more. But then again, considering where we have been since 2010, not bad.
